To have loved the film Malificent?

Took ds - just 5 - to see it with not massively high expectations and thought it was great.
Not usually a fan of disney or angelina jolie (unlike William Hague) but surprised myself by being quite keen to buy the future DVD release. Loads better than Frozen which is the last disney film we saw.
Ds thought so too. He was very bored during frozen and asked if it had nearly finished every 30 seconds. He liked the fighting in Malificent Hmm
Better message from Disney too I thought.

Great film, I had low expectations

We've just come back from seeing it and loved it. Great story and it was over far too quickly.

Me too, as did my DD and friends who are 6. I thought they might find bits of it upsetting but they thought it was excellent.

I loved the fact that the kiss from the prince wasnt considered as the kiss of true love, so didnt awaken the princess. Visually, it was scrummy wasn't it.

Ds liked the bits some children might find upsetting (worrying). He has unpicked the film since getting home. He likes to know who the baddy and the goody is and Malificent was both. Have settled on horrible king being the real baddy. Ds' favourite part was where he died Hmm Hmm
To be honest ds would have liked to watch an hour and a half of fighting. I wouldn't though!

It was amazing, much much better than frozen. Dd2 is still watching bits of it on YouTube.

RiojaHaze · 15/06/2014 15:38

Ooh this is good to hear, DD is desperate to see it!

I read today that it's Angelina's top grossing film so far (or some similar fact!).

Snowcherriesfromfrance · 15/06/2014 15:41

I probably liked it more than ds but he is a hard audience to please -he said it was better than walking with dinosaurs which is high praise indeed. He only usually sits still until the pick and mix runs out and he didn't budge at all through Malificent so must have approved.

I will definitely buy the DVD. Might see if my friend wants to go and see it again at the cinema simply because the special effects and set was great!

I was dreading going to see this, I thought it would be pants, not a big AJ fan at all. Was really surprised, thought it was brilliant, best film I've seen in ages :)

SelfconfessedSpoonyFucker · 15/06/2014 15:47

We really enjoyed it. I thought AJ did a magnificent job.
