To get angry over DH not taking a receipt

Arr DH went shopping yesterday and I asked him to stock up on drynites as they are on offer. Anyway he brought the wrong size (I don't know how because its fairly obvious). I now have 4 packets of 4-8 drynites when DS wears the 8-15 ones and I have no way of returning or exchanging them.

Would have thought they would let you exchange without a receipt, have you been in and asked?

You probably won't need a receipt. Explain that someone bought them for you (don't say it was DH...) and they should just swap them. No skin off their nose as they have the goods.

As long as you're exchanging them for the same item, just a different size, I think you're fine without a receipt.

Did he use a debit or credit card? If so, they may be able to look up the receipt by swiping the card. Stores here can do that.

He paid with cash. Thanks I will take them back tomorrow and see if I can exchange them, I only have one in his size left so need to go their tomorrow anyway. Hopefully they will, I wouldn't be as fussed if they weren't so expensive, they do take noticeable proportion of our budget each week.

Ive taken nappies back before because they are the wrong size without a receipt and had no problems, that was with tesco

ladybirdandsnails · 11/06/2014 19:56

Just take them back and explain. Done it at least twice myself with no issues

Thanks, they were from Waitrose, but hopefully their policy is the same. Will just pop in on the way back from collecting DS1 from school.
