To be counting down the days till the holidays?

It's got to this stage in the summer term where a couple of the older boys in my class are getting a little too big for their boots (being silly, not doing as asked, saying 'why' to requests etc). It is slowly wearing me down and causing stress! (I know it's very common for this to happen about now in the term but doesn't make it any easier!)
They are definitely ready to move on to the next key stage and I am counting down the days for some of them! Don't get me wrong, I love my class and my job but for some my patience is wearing very thin!

Everything is still very full on work wise, marking takes a couple of hours a night and the head has said we have to keep going full throttle and we are not to do anything considered a reduced timetable (head's example was painting Hmm) or 'fun' until the last 3 days of term!

AIBU to be counting down the days like this?

No, YANBU. We work damn hard for our class and we deserve that long rest (even though I will be making resources and spending at least 1 week preparing my new class...).

This stage in the year is highly stressful with reports, APP/assessment so it's nice to finally see that there will be a break xxxx

Of course you're not! I used to teach Y6. By the last day, I was pretty much pushing them through the doors on their way out and capering with joy and relief. They're too big for everything - their boots, their classroom, their chairs, the school - everything!

YANBU.

Someone will be along to tell you are awful sooner or later I expect :o
