To think it must be their fault?

That they are not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts?

My DS dropped the iPad3 the screen cracked. So I took it to a iPad screen repair shop.

Well when they took the screen off something exploded. They tried to fix it but were unable to. So they are replacing it with a equivalent model. I of course am very pleased.

However the iPad repair shop were defensive at no point did I ask if they had done anything wrong. But they kept on saying they had done nothing wrong at all.

So it's just to settle my mind as I am perfectly happy with the outcome.

But Aibu to think that they would not replace the iPad unless it was their fault? Or is there some insurance clause I don't know about where it doesn't matter if it's their fault they still have to replace it?

Obviously they wouldn't be replacing it if it hadn't broken Confused

Sounds like it was their fault things dont explode by themselves usually. You are getting replacement Ipad. Dont really get the need to pick this apart, if they were refusing to replace then yes but seems like they are acting fairly.

Curiosity. As I said I am very happy with the outcome.

I'm always a little suspicious when people are overly defensive about things.

No experience of iPads though, sorry

It doesn't necessarily need to be anyone's 'fault'. Clearly something happened when they opened it up, but it probably wasn't anything that they actually did. Because they had it in their possession at the time, they are replacing it, but I doubt that they made a mistake significant enough to cause it to explode.
