that's really clever! I have quite a few old books … no idea how you'd do this so neatly though.

If you google 'cut book art' some of them are amazing. My book worm DD was thinking about them for art.

Xihha · 02/06/2014 02:13

Sad poor book. it's not cool or clever it's book murder and makes me sad.

FatherDickByrne · 02/06/2014 03:46

Don't like the font >

SelectAUserName · 02/06/2014 03:56

That makes me wince. Poor book quietly minding its own business, waiting to impart its knowledge then one day...snip, chop, hack :(

wowfudge · 02/06/2014 06:15

£75?! Who knew there was yet another way to make one if those god awful 'Home' signs for the gullible people to buy.

Books are for reading, not chopping up.

Eastpoint · 02/06/2014 06:22

I've seen amazing Christmas wreaths made from old books but I think that is just annoying. I can't get upset about books being re-used but I can't imagine throwing one away or cutting one up myself either.

LoveBeingInTheSun · 02/06/2014 06:22

You lot make me sick, stop trying to prevent books from being who they want to be, they can't help it if tgey are books but want to be art.

Morgause · 02/06/2014 06:25

For some books it could only be an improvement.

DoctorTwo · 02/06/2014 06:40

That is just pure vandalism. Sad

lbsjob87 · 02/06/2014 06:45

I bet that the only people who buy these are middle-class, well-off panic buyers looking for last minute wedding/birthday presents.
"Oh, he/she likes reading books, that'll do" types.
I'd rather spend £75 on actual books I could read and pass on, ta.

Paq · 02/06/2014 07:13

What a wanky object!

But they've trumped it elsewhere. I give you this little beauty from the same website:

goat cabinet

Silvercatowner · 02/06/2014 07:20

It took me a while to see what it actually was. Bizarre. I hope no-one ever buys me one.

OwlCapone · 02/06/2014 07:21

I think the pages are folded, not cut. There may be a small amount of snipping to make, say, the inside of the O but the rest looks folded.

Very clever but not worth £75!

wowfudge · 02/06/2014 07:34

Clearly the website to go to for tasteless, overpriced crap. If I ever have the desire to buy any of this tat, somebody shoot me as I will have lost the plot.

londonrach · 02/06/2014 07:36

What a waste of a book. How would you get that in the bookcase... (Misses the point)

londonrach · 02/06/2014 07:39

Pag the goat must be popular as only 2 left. Everyone has different tastes I'm sure there are people out there who love a goat in clothes and a folded or cut book. Each to their own. Not my taste but there you are

BikeRunSki · 02/06/2014 07:43

Maybe there were only 2 goat cabinets made (2 too many).

wowfudge · 02/06/2014 07:52

Good point BikeRunSki. Perhaps the retailer is fibbing to get shot of them having realised the buyer dropped a clanger with that one. Goats are creepy looking in real life (it's the eyes) so why you'd want a painted one looking at you I don't know.

WandaDoff · 02/06/2014 07:59

Oh, that poor book Sad

THAT is not how I was brought up to treat books.

Nocomet · 02/06/2014 09:05

Actually art A level would be a more fitting end for Of Mice and Men, than burning it.

DD1 is not fond of it and it's absolutely covered in her illegible hand writing and highlighter, so the charity shop would throw it straight in recycling.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 02/06/2014 09:07

Why do people put those 'home' signs up? Isn't it obvious that you are in someone's home?
