I'm freezing and was cold yesterday (so I put on extra layers and dressing gown) but today I thought sod it just because it's nearly June why can't I have a fire ??? It can't be as bad as turning the central heating on can it ? Please tell me I'm not nuts !

Where are you? It's not exactly scorchio where i am (Leeds) but I think needing the fire lit would be a bit odd. though you can do what you like of course

Or are you my dad? He loves a good fire....temperature in the living room there is hotter than the sun.

WorraLiberty · 30/05/2014 16:25

You're completely nuts for asking random people on the internet this question.

Your house - your fire.

Unless you're going to ask me to pay your fuel bill, do what you like Grin

YANBU - I am wearing a scarf!

Mitchy1nge · 30/05/2014 16:29

yay I've had a fire every day for about a week, we are not alone

and the heating is on whenever I'm in

even polar bears' teeth would be chattering at the moment

PuppyMonkey · 30/05/2014 16:31

My central heating is programmed to come on when it gets below a certain temp inside - 14 degrees or something. It clicked on yesterday and the day before - nothing to do with me. Wink

Yanbu! Came in half an hour ago with DS and we are both in jumpers and hats today. Fire lit and curtains drawn. It's v odd weather today. V dark and stormy

ilovecolinfirth · 30/05/2014 18:42

According to the bbc, it's the 3rd warmest spring since records began! I'm freezing!

ManchesterAunt · 30/05/2014 18:43

Yanbu! Nothing in the world cosier.

FunkyBoldRibena · 30/05/2014 18:45

I nearly relented yesterday. Eyeing up my woodburner and axe I was, last night.

Littlefish · 30/05/2014 18:47

We have a fire most evenings. Our Sittingroom is over the cellar, so it tends to be a bit cool in there. In fact, DH is lighting the fire as I type this!

BuilderMammy · 30/05/2014 18:48

We had a fire on the 21st of June last year! We had one last night. Might not tonight though, I've no washing to dry. My feet are cold, though. Hmm...

theywillgrowup · 30/05/2014 19:15

I'm in south west ! The weird thing is I've actually been quite warm all morning, outside cleaning the car in a t-shirt but this afternoon it's gone really chilly (and think it's going to pour down- knew I shouldn't have washed the car)

I am boiling but could be my age

FernMitten · 30/05/2014 22:20

My heating's on too, I'm freezing in the evening lately. Tshirts on and windows open in the day though Confused

Blackpuddingbertha · 30/05/2014 22:32

Third night in a row here for a fire. South East, but our house doubles very nicely as a fridge.

Godcreatedcricket · 30/05/2014 22:38

Too right, love. I put one on the other evening and I'm in tropical London.

Notcontent · 30/05/2014 22:41

I put my fire on this week too! It's been so grey and chilly compared to two weeks ago... It cheers me up! Nothing like a nice glass of wine and a fire....

pictish · 30/05/2014 22:42

My electric blanket's on. I'm just letting it warm up for a bit. Tis chilly here.

MrsCosmopilite · 30/05/2014 22:46

Not tonight, but we did have the fire alight for a little while yesterday as it got cold in the evening.
