To send my sandwich back to be cut up?

Just phoned my husband from the bedroom (struggling with 4 month sleep regression baby) and asked him to make me a sandwich. Tomato puree with ham. Yum yum. Brings it up. . . Whole!!

I made him go back and cut it in half. AIBU or should I have been grateful to get it in the first place?

Yabu, tomato purée and ham sounds ConfusedConfusedConfused

Janethegirl · 24/05/2014 21:16

I'd have wanted it in quarters Grin

Yanbu, how else are you going to pick it up 1 handed

80sMum · 24/05/2014 21:18

No, not unreasonable to expect that a sandwich would arrive cut into at least 2 pieces.

However, your choice of filling sounds a bit odd!

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/05/2014 21:19

Apart from the fact that its sounds vile.....yanbu!

YANBU, DH serves toast not cut in half. It's wrong, you don't get the right amount of crust and middle in each bite if you start from the crust.

Was it naice ham?

YANBU to request a sandwich that is actually possible to hold. My DH is terrible for this. Even when he does cut it, it's down the length of the bread so I end up with two long, thin slices of sandwich/toast.

I've tried to train him in the art of diagonal bread slicing, but it just goes over his pretty little head Hmm Confused

YANBU - DH and I have had to lean over and cut up each other's dinners on occasion when juggling (not literally) a crying baby. Babies always know when you're eating something difficult to manage with one hand.

missknows · 24/05/2014 21:22

To make up for it he did bring it back in triangles :-)

And don't diss the filing until you have tried it. Cheese and onion crisps would usually be added too but I thought the crunch might wake the baby in my arms finally asleep again for the 3rd time tonight!

That combination does not sound atall right right, unless you actually mean bacon and ketchup and are trying to make it sound a bit 'naice'....

BuggersMuddle · 24/05/2014 21:25

YANBU If you'd suggested he cut it the wrong way (squares instead of triangles) or complained about halves instead of quarters YWBU, but a sandwich ought to be at least cut in half, particularly if you want to eat it whilst multitasking Grin

Bog standard cheap ham I'm afraid. I do get funny looks for squirting tomato puree in my mouth straight from the tube. Other people do do this don't they??? I just thought it was my family who don't like it.

Tomato toothpaste (as it's known in this house) is wronger than a wrong thing on Wrongsday. I can tolerate a small splodge in spag bol or similar, but in large quantities it's down there in my estimations alongside Marmite.

Crisp sammages, however, are surely manna from heaven.
