Temperature 39.2 after pain meds

My friends come round and helped look after my DS due to being a tad ill, I'm freezing, all my body hurts to touch or move, my head is killing me, my eyes are blurry, my hands and feet are tingly and my temp was 38.2 but after taking ibuprofen and paracetamol it's now 39.2.

He thinks an ambulance needs to be called and I think it's an absolutely waste of resources I'm not dying and ok sure I'll be fine. He thinks I'm bu and I think he is, so whose right?

The blurry eyes would concern me. I would call 112 or whatever out of hours/NHS direct number is there.

I meant 111.

Sorry you're il. How long ago did you take the meds?
Do you have any underlying medical history? Asthma, diabetes, heart condition?
Sounds like a nasty bought of flu

gratefulforwhatihavegot · 22/05/2014 19:53

maybe wait ten minutes and see if temp goes down and then maybe go and see. It sounds like he has a point if you are cold with a very high temp, and it won't hurt to go and get checked out. Can he take you there?

PennySillin · 22/05/2014 19:53

Not an ambulance but definitely worth a 111 call. Hope you feel better soon.

bedraggledmumoftwo · 22/05/2014 19:54

Definitely 111, that's what it is for- let them judge

Hairylegs47 · 22/05/2014 19:54

It does no harm to ring 111 as Fanjo said.

BerniesBurneze · 22/05/2014 19:54

Phone 111. Can you bear to not wrap up warm etc and just wear some light clothing?

DuckyMoDuckyMoMo · 22/05/2014 19:55

I have intracranial hypertension and use to take diamox but don't really anymore.

He can't take me i've just Sent him home and my DS is in bed!

I'm normally right with these things and think it's the flu!

Definitely NOT an ambulance. You have a fever, probably a virus which could even be 'flu.
Regular paracetamol/ibuprofen, plenty of rest and fluids. Eat if you want to.
A fever is your body's way of trying to fight nasty bugs, try and let your body do the work.
GP first. Then maybe 111.
999 in an emergency.
