Hiya, I removed mine in the early hours of this morning, I found the threads and have it a go and it was easy!!! My only regret apart from having the damn thing fitted in the first place is that I didn't do it sooner!!
I had discussed removal with a gp at my surgery and she said it would have to be a Dr who was trained to fit them or I would have to wait until they held their coil clinic (they do em in bulk when loads of women are on the list)
Anyway I'd tried a few times to get an apt with one of the gps but to no avail - one's on maternity another is on hold for a,couple of months n because of this you can't get near the others.
It didn't hurt a bit (it caised me constant discomfort anyway)and it came out surprisingly easy.
Haven't told dh yet coz he was pushing zeds but I feel better - he kept telling me to go n get it out anyway coz it was making me miserable so he'll be pleased
Dunno what problems it caused you but I think I had all the negative side effects that peeps list on these forums -
Weight gain - I lost all my baby weight plus an extra 2 stone soon after our dd was born 3 n a half years ago but I've gained nearly 2 stone in a yr n 2 months (it was fitted March 2013) despite no change in diet and being more active, bloatedness (I'm not the heaviest I've ever been but my clothes from when I was a bit bigger don't even fit coz I'm soooo bloated)
lethargy, moods swings, depression n anxiety (my dh, ds and dd will be pleased to have the old me back),
really rotten spotty skin, extra greasy hair, more sweaty,
occasional discharge and frequent thrush (sorry tmi)
ovarian pain and constant cramps,
painful skin all over body,
constant sore boobs,
aches n pains,
TOTAL loss of libido
- no point in having it anyway eh?,
blurry vision and generally feeling unwell,
I even get that horrendous bone pain in my lower leg that peeps have been going on about on here.
I thought I was going mad but I know it's been down to mirena, I feel like I've lost a year and 2 months of my life and feel like I've missed out on my hubby and kids - Well no more, we're getting me back
Oh on a positive note it was good for my heavy (not painful) periods but I'd rather have a day or two of that than what I've went through
Good luck, I hope you get sorted xxx
