I have to write a page about what my ideal day would be like. Obviously that is MY ideal day, not yours Wink. The thing is, I've been running around after my two little ones day in day out for so long, I can't even remember what I like to do any more. What do people do for fun?

I wish I was joking!!!

I had a pretty good one today. Long walk with sister and friend, including a coffee, then home and a shower, lunch out in local seaside village with DD (18), where we actually had a conversation (she's revising for A levels at the moment and life is generally a bit fraught) then home for her to revise and me to do marking sitting in the sun on the balcony (could have done without that bit) then home made chilli out of the freezer and a glass of wine while watching tv. Lovely.

Is love a day where I have no work, housework, deadlines etc and for me and my daughter to just be. No pressures or clock watching or thinking about the million other things I need to do. Just us.

And a bit of sunshine and ice cream!

DS and DH get up; I have a lie in Grin.
DH wakes me up for breakfast (bacon, eggs, toast, coffee).
Everyone faffs around the house productively.
We all have lunch together.
I put DS to bed for a nap.
DH and I eat chocolate secretly.
We all go to the park.
We all have an early dinner together.
DS and I have a bath together.
DH puts DS to bed.
DH and I watch TV Grin.

I'm surprised and entertained by how 'normal' all of mine sounds Grin. I'm lucky enough to get similar days to this sometimes. It's funny that it's an ordinary(ish) family day that I've described. I should probably add some wine somewhere.

Had it already...woke up in Canada.....spent the day whale watching (didn't see any but saw a star fish swim) then returned to shore for amazing gush meal followed by watching the stars from a hot tub. Was with dh. Now looking back as an adult tine spent with my parents and sister when I was a child...

I would like to wake up feeling refreshed, before everyone else so I can watch the news and MN with a hot cup of naice coffee.
Dp And the Dts will get up and sort breakfast out for themselves while I have a hot peaceful shower, they will get ready to go out, and I will find comfortable clothes that make me feel cool and confident. I will not look like a tired Mum.

We will meet up with family and go somewhere nice for the day, maybe a museum / art gallery in London or a stately home or even the seaside. Where ever we got it will suit everyone and we will talk about how lovely it was for ages, and try to go again ever year.
Lovely lunch out somewhere with really nice food and a cold bottle of wine.

Family will then whisk the Dts away and we will meet up with friends for cocktails.
We will go to a concert or festival maybe even a show and have more food at some point along the way. Again, it will be a fantastic night and there will bed no embarrassing photos of me.
Will the perfect day extend to the day after ? I would love to wake up without a hangover.

Kafri · 18/05/2014 21:43

Wake up without an alarm set
Tea/brekkie
Potter about
Lunch with friends
Maybe a bit of shopping
Theatre in evening
Read a book in bed before sleep

Ahhh, now that would be lovely.

littlegreengloworm · 18/05/2014 21:44

I would love to wake up on holiday by the coast after a lie in and shower using luxurious products, taking time to get dressed and put on make up

Cuddle my baby and est breakfast with dh

We would then go for a nice walk on the beach, browse in little quirky shops and have coffee in a cute little coffee shop

Then we would get back to the hotel and I would have a manicure or pedicure while dh and baby nap.

We would go for a nice meal together and later on me and dh woud cuddle up and baby would sleep through

The end :)

Methe · 18/05/2014 21:45

Bought fab shoes
Nice time with the kids

Nice new top to wear

stealthsquiggle · 18/05/2014 21:55

Actually today was pretty good - largely spent lazing in the sunshine with a picnic, watching DS play cricket, with an initially restless DD who ended up in charge of the scoreboard for the last match.

Of course all the things we should have been doing are still there waiting for us, but I don't really care TBH.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/05/2014 22:13

Oh I see, sorry I got a bit carried away and I'd a perfect day rather than an ideal day.

OuterFromOutersville · 18/05/2014 22:16

I enjoyed yours Arya Smile.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/05/2014 22:17

Me too Outer [wistful]

OuterFromOutersville · 18/05/2014 22:21
Grin
Panzee · 18/05/2014 22:24

No work in the day
A full night's sleep.
That's all. :)

ICanSeeTheSun · 18/05/2014 22:26

My ideal day would be a day in bed, watching mindless TV, reading some books and have someone bring me drinks and snacks all day.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/05/2014 22:35

Ahhhhhhhh crap daytime tv, I miss it.

Squitten · 18/05/2014 22:38

Get up early after a good night's sleep. Morning out at a museum or gallery and a long lunch with my friends. Afternoon hitting the shops and then meet DH for cocktails and theatre. All children peacefully sleeping when I get home!

CheshireDing · 18/05/2014 22:43

Cuddles with my babies and DH and being tbe winner of the Euro when it has rolled over for 6 weeks Grin

pombal · 18/05/2014 22:47

Obviously the house would be immaculate and free of DC/H

skinmysunshine · 18/05/2014 22:47

I had a pretty perfect one on my birthday in March.

Had lie in and cuddles in bed with kids in the morning.
Got to do school run & drop them off (I work f-t and never get to school run)
Got the bus into London, had seat and read
Went to Balthazar and had a lovely breakfast - avocado on toast
Sanctuary spa where I read, swam, had a massage and some champagne
Cab to hotel. Had my own concierge who took me up to huge suite - birthday cake, chocs, champagne on ice
Drank champagne, ate chocs and watched an old episode of Bergerac while lying on sofa
Went to Selfridges for champagne & oysters
Bought a new top
Went to blow dry bar
Back to hotel, got changed, went for dinner - yummy sushi- and read kindle
Got back to suite, watched a programme about The Plantagenets
Kids on sleepovers
DH arrived at hotel, lovely big comfy bed
Lie in next morning

elQuintoConyo · 18/05/2014 22:52

Today: Picnic at a hermitage, in the sun, with DH's extended family so all the dc were playing together. DS didn't hit anyone Grin and enjoyed being with his cousins.

Otherwise:
I get up late after a 12-hour sleep.
The house is empty.
I do some sewing - for pleasure, not buttons and nametapes.
Eat chocolate ALL day.
Have a nap around 3pm, perhaps a wank lady tickle first.
More chocolate.
Watch something like LA Confidential or the three (first three) Bourne films back-to-back.
Go to bed.
Snuggle up to DH and DS.
