AIBU to wonder why Amazon don't want my return?

I ordered a DVD off Amazon only when it arrived it appears to be in German. I think it says it has English sub-titles on the back but haven't taken cellophane off to check. (It's not a German film). I checked my order on Amazon and still can't see anything about it being German so I used the 'return this item' process, selected a refund and then got a message saying I can keep the item and they will still refund me. Is this right??

Sometimes it costs more to actually return it.

Yep, I've had this. Ordered American version of film by mistake, so totally my fault. They told me to keep it and they would send the British version.

Good film - Death at a Funeral if anyone wants a good laugh Grin

What do you care? And why is this in aibu?

phantomnamechanger · 16/05/2014 20:21

are they acknowledging their error and saving you the trouble of returning it as a gesture of goodwill? may not be worth them paying the P&P

I have seen both the british and the american version. British is way better. Like the face that it is the same guy that plays the ...... in both films though.

Bodicea · 16/05/2014 20:39

I ordered some godawful CD for my mother and somehow ended up with two copies, both paid for. That I would have gladly paid to return rather than keep the extra Grin

ilovepowerhoop · 16/05/2014 21:04

They did the same for me when I tried to return a quiz book

AndiPandi · 16/05/2014 21:45

Gosh I'm surprised people don't take advantage!
