when they need to ask for help with every little thing.

Every week there's the same person on my facebook 'whats number for xxxxx?' - google it

Wot temp is a baby sposed be at - google it, or ring nhs. The people on your status have no clue it would seem.

Even people who are going to be in my cohort at uni, 'where do I sign up for student finance' whats my nashunal insurance numba ARE YOU FOR REAL? How did you get into university?!!

It just seems people don't try to work things out for themselves anymore. They just give up instead of doing a bit of research.

Or am I being a ranty miserable arse?

Sadly there are rather a lot of them on here too these days.

I blame penis beaker. (Although tbf I blame penis beaker for everything!)

TequilaMockingbirdy · 13/05/2014 16:46

I can completely understand if it's something that warrants a discussion and they want anecdotal stuff too, but when it's something simple it really does my head in I want to scream.

Er.. Have you not noticed that it's a lot on here too.

TequilaMockingbirdy · 13/05/2014 16:50

Yes I have :) but like I said, on here I think they're looking for discussions and a bit of support. Whereas on facebook and the like they just want their answer - and when they get it they don't even say thanks!

Some people get overwhelmed by all the optional responses on Google and don't know how to filter them down to the one that will give the quickest one word answer. Or they're just too fucking lazy for their own good.

But how rude not to say thank you if someone actually does bother their arse to do the googling for them - I'd defriend them immediately.

Ohhh that website is brilliant haha!!

I think it's ok to ask your mates on FB.

Because it's lazy. Those people are only doing the google search you could have done for yourself.

And in regards to the uni cohort, research skills are a key thing so if you can't find student finance is there any hope..

You should de-friend her. You obviously look down on her.

usuallysuspect · 13/05/2014 18:29

Yes, de-friend her . You obviously don't like her.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 13/05/2014 18:41

It's so illogical.

"Does anyone know the number for Pete's takeaway in Leeds?" into FB.

Vs

"Pete's takeaway Leeds" in google. Why do people make work for themselves?

MoominAndMiniMoom · 13/05/2014 18:44

In fairness, student finance is a fucking nightmare.
