Had a shit morning, DP forgot to reset alarm clock (works at 4 am), I overslept so DD missed school bus meant a 22 mile drive round trip. Feeling ratty and fed up and my plan for the day is wrecked - not happy...

But a lovely sunny morning ...

I work from home have something really tedious to do that I'm struggling to concentrate on ...and my office is always dull...not enough natural light, north facing ....
Decide to do it in the garden - take kitchen table out there (need a big flat space), comfy chair out of my office, paper bin, pens, computer etc ...takes 15+ mins. Settle down with coffee and start...
Within 5 mins, just as I am getting into the right mindset - clouds over...hear distant thunder - damn it
Bring computer inside, no better - move everything back inside ....just as it puts a few big rain spots down ....
Within 5 mins - lovely and sunny again ....grrr....start taking everything back out again and it starts thundering again ...
I'm just going to have to give up on the idea...aren't I. And worse because doing it outside in sun made it almost bearable...and I got my hopes up ...
So AIBU to bloody well hate this kind of weather?
BTW While writing this it has now decided to absolutely piss down and my washing is still out there ...Sad want to go back to bed now ....

I'll send you my weather , sunny, humid, 36 C

wobblyweebles · 13/05/2014 14:15

Where I live they say if you're not enjoying the weather don't worry, it'll change in five minutes.

Same here.

What you could do is put a huge mirror on the wall opposite the window. It should, in theory, reflect light back into the room, making it light and warm.

I bought a patio set for the garden yonks ago but it's been out of stock. They are finally delivering it on Saturday so I can sit outside and work (when it stops bloody raining!).

With any luck it will stop soon Smile Brew

If you're in the East Mids the rain stopped about 20 minutes ago but it looks a little grey outside.

I have to do the school run in half an hour. I have to walk to the bus stop Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 13/05/2014 14:26

Worcestershire here.

struggling100 · 13/05/2014 14:28

YANBU.

I HATE this weather. Just give me some sunshine, dammit.

Blamenargles · 13/05/2014 14:30

South Yorkshire looks like it might be stopping. Fingers crossed

LadySybilLikesCake · 13/05/2014 14:34

The weather on the beeb said it's going to be like this all day Sad I saw a little blue sky a moment ago, now it's looking grey again.

Standinginline · 13/05/2014 14:42

Yep ,my car window has been up / down times than I've had hot dinners. One minute I'm hot ,the next ,I'm cold.

unlucky83 · 13/05/2014 15:02

Glorious sunshine here now again (NE scotland) just in time for school pick up - (makes a change) but I won't be able to do any work after pick up...
Actually - a good thing - cos realised that is was so lovely this morning I left my coat and brolly in the car after dropping DD1 - a minute or so walk away - and if it was still chucking it down I'd have soaked just getting it!
Guess there is always tomorrow...

I got absolutely nailed in the rain earlier.

I'd only nipped to the post box at the end of my road, 20 yards away. Sunny when I left, massive crack of thunder and rain in sheets by the time I got back in.

SoleSource · 13/05/2014 15:34

No storms here in Birmingham today, yet..

YANBU

Fed up of air pressure making me feel low and the sunlight is on and off.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/05/2014 15:50

YANBU. I've spun and pegged out the same load of bedding 3 times now. I'd give up but my 1 yo has food poisoning, my dryer packed in yesterday after the 6th load and I have no clean bedding left.
