I clearly spend to much time with you nest of vipers, dementors and gin soaked fish wives Sad

I've just gone to the freezer in search of frozen delights for my daughters lunch. Whilst rummaging through snow I found something agreeable and thought 'oh DD can have this for lunch'

DD Shock my poor lovely chunky ball of fat has been reduced to an acronym Sad

So I'm sad to say adieu till at least half six when she goes to bed

Oh, you've got it bad. Delete yourself immediately, and check yourself into the Priory.

Writerwannabe83 · 08/05/2014 10:52

I do this too!! If I'm posting on Facebook for example or writing an email I always put DH and DS!!! It feels so natural and it doesn't occur to me that other people won't understand Grin

Sparklingbrook · 08/05/2014 10:53

Typing 'hmm' on other sites doesn't bring up the face you were needing either. Sad

EmmanuelWoganberry · 08/05/2014 10:55

Sometimes my thoughts are arranged as an AIBU question Sad "hmm, would I be unreasonable to have chips for lunch"

Bowlersarm · 08/05/2014 10:56

Yep, I have a DH, DSes and even DDog. I have to really watch myself saying any of them out loud during a conversation.

I also think as if I am in an AIBU thread with some everyday happenings in my life. What would MN say? Confused

It needs to stop Smile

Ploppy16 · 08/05/2014 10:57

I wish we had a strike through option in every day life, it would be so much simpler.
But yes, I do it too.

QuintsKazooo · 08/05/2014 10:59

Well, I say

Playingthelonggame · 08/05/2014 11:04

^^^^ that is why I fucking luff MN Grin

thebodylovesspring · 08/05/2014 11:41

Guilty of all the above. Grin

MissHobart · 08/05/2014 12:39

Yup, I regularly want to add Grin Hmm Confused to text messages, in fact I've spent the last two hours on her instead of getting dressed, doing housework and going to Tesco! Confused

MissHobart · 08/05/2014 12:39

*here

CluelessCrapParent · 08/05/2014 12:42

What? You're not supposed to use DD, DH, MIL etc. on everyday FB usage? Confused

Latara · 08/05/2014 12:50

I put my heating on today (well, I'm cold) and thought 'oh I wonder what MN jury would think of that...'

CluelessCrapParent · 08/05/2014 12:51

SOmetimes I have a disagreement with DH and I think to myself, I bet if I put it on AIBU in mumsnet, the MN jury would agree with me...

EverythingsDozy · 08/05/2014 13:03

Also guilty of wondering if IBU for everything! And I thought I was the only nutter!

Fillybuster · 08/05/2014 13:09

AIBU features regularly in my household...DH has even been known to suggest I put disagreements points of difference to the MN BU vote Grin And I also do the mental shortcut thing to refer to ds, dd1 and dd2 to myself....not out loud yet, but the time will come.

Andrewofgg · 08/05/2014 13:37

Curiously I have just had an email from BIL signed BIL and now I wonder whether he is a closet MNer!

Playingthelonggame · 08/05/2014 13:55

He is andrew!

OP posts:
QuintsKazooo · 08/05/2014 13:57

BIL is car in Norwegian. Maybe he thinks he is a Norwegian car.

Or he is a mumsnetter, or his name is Bill, and he cant spell it. Endless possibilities!

BankWadger · 08/05/2014 14:12

Typing 'hmm' on other sites doesn't bring up the face you were needing either. Sad

I get this. I specifically have not replied to an email from my parents today because I need to use [envy ] in it and [envy ] rather than Envy will just look silly. And even if they did see the Envy face they wouldn't know what it meant, meaning writing [envy ] would make far more sense, but then they'd be wondering wtf are the brackets about? So I just haven't replied.

Oh I do this all the time, I was once talking to a hv and she aasked me about one of the other boys and I said referred to him as ds4... She looked at me like wtf!

JaackSparroww · 08/05/2014 14:32

I keep thinking DM for mother, even though two months ago, DM was Daily Mail!!
My partner is now DP, my friend is TTC, and I can't [grin ] on any other website!
I even wanted to post an AIBU on facebook today. Lets not.
what is this coming to Hmm

Andrewofgg · 08/05/2014 15:52

DHM for Daily Hate Mail resolves the ambiguity.

JennyOnAPlate · 08/05/2014 16:47

I'm with you

When I need to know something my first thought isn't "I'll Google that" it's "lets ask munsnet"
