to think that it should be possible for some Chat threads to stay rather than be deleted?

We seem to have the perverse situation where all AIBU threads stay forever, no matter what the subject matter, with all their trademark feistiness and cuntishness.

But all Chat threads are deleted after 90 days! And yet Chat is where I have had some of my happiest times on Mumsnet, even if we are just bumbling around talking about nothing. Every now and then I go to search for something or other I might have posted in the past, or want to find something someone has posted to me, only to find it has gorn because twas done in Chat.

Now that we have the 30 Days Only topic, can we have a Chat Topic Where The Threads Stay?

do some chat threads not get moved into classics no that i am ever in there I do agree with you though you can be on a thread for a while as you said just chatting and then they vanish, I hate when AIBU threads are risen from the dead I answer them sometimes and realise it is from september 2010 or something drives me mad,

Agree. I've 'watched' loads of jolly useful Chat threads over the years, all full of good advice, tips and recommendations - planning to revisit them when I have time never then only to find I'm too late.

YY Chat should stay forever and AIBU should be 90 days.

Lots of good advice and useful info disappear from Chat, whereas no-one needs to re-read crappy convoluted "AIBU to ask which you prefer pampers or huggies"
