I cant face evening out.

I really cant.

"Mums night out" with ds1s secondary. I know 2, 3 mums there, vaguely, from having chatted briefly, at events. I am sure it will be fun. Local gastro pub. Drinks, nibbles.

But, I am so tired, and have been so unwell. Still grappling breathing issues. I know I will be a bore- my thoughts are preoccupied with my chest, my sinuses, flow charts and getting to grips with new inhalers.

I feel fat and frumpy and non-glamorous. I just want to hibernate.

Hibernate with a glass of wine and some chocolate.

Quinteszilla · 30/04/2014 18:21

But I feel that I should, because I confirmed I would come - not that it matters they dont know me from Adam. And I am lonely and find my social life bad - no wonder, when I get cold feet every time there is a school evening out. Especially the secondary one.

Is it cold feet or feeling unwell? If it is genuinely feeling unwell, tuck yourself up in bed. Otherwise grab your courage, put on your glad rags and go for at least an hourSmile

Wooodpecker · 30/04/2014 18:23

YANBU. I can't bear these nights out and rarely go. Nothing against the parents per se, I just don't hate these forced social events. Yuk.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 30/04/2014 18:24

Leave it this time. It's unlucky timing.

I have missed out on work events today and yesterday because I am unwell. Major tradeshow, which I was looking forward to. I was booked for seminars, and did not feel up to going.
So, it is not just cold feet.

In fact, I will go and nap on the sofa for a bit.

I would go. The best nights out are always when you don't want to go. A couple of stiff drinks will sort out your malaise and you may meet some interesting and lovely people.

If you don't go, they'll all have an amazing time and you'll regret not going when they're talking about it tomorrow.

HolgerDanske · 30/04/2014 19:30

Go Smile

I'm a world weary anxiety attack badge owner.

Do you think the stress of worrying about going out has exacerbated your symtoms, are you looking for an excuse?

I'm similar, I'm nervous about nights out regardless of whom I'm with (unless close friends)

Quinteszilla · 01/05/2014 09:51

No, not really looking for an excuse, I have a chest infection, and I am on antibiotics. My hayfever is playing up. Currently trying to find out if I have asthma or if my chest infection is causing this tightness and wheeziness. So genuinely ill.

I am glad I stayed home.
