...tissues, emergency insulin/needles/glucose tablets (I am not diabetic), a diary, a hair brush and mirror, a spirit level and multi tool. I used almost all of these things this evening (the hair brush was not needed).

It's common in my circle to be able to randomly ask and be able to get a selection of board pens.

I have a payslip, excema cream, lip balm, painkillers, hand sanitizer, pens, charger for my e cig, plasters and probably loads of random crap. For work I add a bottle of water and a book.

1. Blue MUJI zip-up pouch, which contains:

(a) a smaller IKEA pink zip-up pouch with Palmers Cocoa butter hand-cream, Boots value paracetamol, ibuprofen, ranitidine and hay-fever medication (cetrizine hydrochloride and loratadine), 5 x ASDA scented nappy sacks, Carex antibacterial handgel, an iPhone 5 USB charging cable, a Blackberry USB charging cable, a non-descript (nicked from ex-husband) portable charging unit, an emery board, Kleenex pocket tissues, spare contact lenses and Sure travel-size deodorant; and

I have an obsession with MUJI, Clas Ohlson and IKEA, which is not surprising given how much crap I like to cart around! What is more surprising is that I have not yet been afflicted with chronic back pain ... Then again, I suppose I would put the ibuprofen to good use!

My handbag is of course humongous!

PS - I wasn't going to include the store/brand names but decided to - it became a challenge to see if I could remember where everything came from!

I also forgot - earphones and an earphone extender cable.

My purse, crayons, my phone (battery is dead though), a foldable travel toilet seat for dd, wet wipes, a notebook but no pen, dd must have taken it out at some point and I forgot to replace it, empty sweet wrapper and throat pastilles for when I had a cold ages ago.

Phone, keys, ID (in my late 20s and still get asked when I buy alcohol), money, Costa card, bank card, perfume, rail card and pepper spray. (I live in a fairly rough city.)

My handbag is very small though so I don't clutter it up! Dd still in nappies so I bring a changing bag out with all her bits in.

And another scarf from Hobbs need to stop buying scarves!

Nothing at all I have a new handbag and nothing will go in it, ever. I just sit on the sofa with the bag on my lap and stroke it like a cat. I love new handbags. It won't last for long.

In my old and smelly one I have

• keys, wallet, a handful of receipts
• two Penguins (chocolate bars, not live animals)
• an address book with details of my minded children (I am a child-minder)
• a small first aid kit
• a packet of jelly babies
• a dry bit of Satsuma skin
• a few raisins at the bottom of the bag
• a business card from a hairdresser
• a small pot of Vaseline.

Much the same as everyone else, purse, tickets, receipts, tissues etc, and two screwdrivers. One large, one small, so if anyone asks "Has anyone got a screwdriver?" I can say "Me!" Still waiting for this to happen though.

I have dumped my lovely handbag for a huge baby bag that seems to be permanently full, despite only having a purse, phone, tissues and pen for me, the rest all being for his lordship ds2

I think some of you must secretly have Mary Poppins style magic carpet bags.
