Watching it now on ITV.

The bloke who wrote it was on the local news earlier being interviewed and rattling on about how it was his greatest work, lifetime achievement etc etc and how when he had the script with just "written by" on it he had sent it back with that crossed out and "written and created by" on it instead. Obviously proud of what he had done.

Except that the whole story is just a rehash of that film with Harrison Ford in it, even down to him accidentally escaping out of the police van.

Can't help thinking he is a bit deluded.........

Well it's not even finished yet.... How do you know it's a film re-hashed?

squoosh · 28/04/2014 22:09

You're so right OP! It's The Fugitive set in Manchester. Should I email John Simm and tell him to look for the man with the prosthetic arm?

Yambabe · 28/04/2014 22:11

lol maybe.

I'm not saying it's not good, just that he was so proud of having "created" the story. You maybe had to see the news clip! Grin

Yep. Plus, I am struggling to believe that if you found your spouse in a pool of blood, you wouldn't even look for your DC.

bleedingheart · 28/04/2014 22:14

Aw don't piss on his chips Yambabe!

And the film with Harrison Ford was a remake too wasn't it?

squoosh · 28/04/2014 22:16

The film was a remake of the TV series of the same name. This is just a rip off (so far).

bleedingheart · 28/04/2014 22:31

I'll watch the next one, I like the actors in it.
When they were in the canteen a bloke in the background looked like Burnside out of The Bill! Distracted me a bit I'll admit!

roastednut · 28/04/2014 22:34

Yanbu it reminded me of at least 3 other shows including Luther (where he has wife's blood on hands, realised this, stagger off) and the recent Line of Duty which was fab and had a police van in a crash got overturned and prisoner escaped from it. But even so I'll be watching it next week Smile

The thread title caught my eye because I thought this was about Michael Crichton's 'Prey'. I'm guessing from the comments on here that it isn't!

thebodydoestricks · 28/04/2014 22:38

I enjoyed it but agree surely he would have looked for his children.

Also obviously his finger prints would be everywhere, they were a bit quick to charge him. Where were his legal team?

I think it's the woman in charge. Got herself in the case to cover something up.

Mmmmm I usually work out the plot of midsomer murders. Saddo. Grin

PicaK · 28/04/2014 22:39

Any chance it's a rip off of the Stephen king book where the guy has 2 personalities and you see what the good personality suffers not what the bad one does?

LineRunner · 28/04/2014 22:43

The Fugitive. I thought that the minute I saw the trailer.

Didn't watch it, it looked far too screamy.
