I am desperate!!

I have a Staffordshire bull terrier who I love dearly but his hair gets everywhere, the worst is it appears on plates. I am clean Hoover daily, I live in a studio flat. I just don't know what i can do to prevent it. I feel like such a tramp

I feel your pain. If my dog weren't petrified I would take the Hoover to her directly

How often do you wash him? With short haired dogs a weekly bath helps get the loose hairs off. And then a quick daily brushing (outside obviously)...

Um honestly....if you're generally cleaning regularly and you have a dog, you accept dog hair as an extra condiment

He doesn't like baths, so it's a rare event. I'm guessing his hairs will extend to the bathroom :'(

Yeah, all I can recommend is a bloody good brush every day outside. Or learn to love the hair.

I have a golden retriever. You dont know what hair is til you've lived with my hairy brute.

Haha in our house a rogue dog hair is called a condiment. Get a furminator from amazon it'll remove all the dead hair under his top layer of fur & hopefully you'll see a big difference, we certainly did.

If you can afford it, send him to the groomers once fortnightly. It makes a massive difference to staying on top of the hair as they really get all the losse ones out.

JRT cross here and hair is is everywhere - sometimes I think we have a carpet downstairs, but it is just his hair in clumps on the wooden floor. We often have hair in the oven too. I feel your pain. Also he is hoover phobic so no chance of giving him a quick once over.

Ha! With 2 Akita's there's never a need to unplug the hoover On the plus side you never notice dust bunnies because they are swallowed whole by the tumble weed sized fur balls!

Mil got this.

In the machine they tend to gather in the rubber seal (helpfully) so i just scoop them out after each wash.

I Hoover my dog. She doesn't mind as long as DH covers her ears as I do it.

I wash an old tea towel on a quick wash after I wash my wee dogs towels etc. I have a dedicated hair catching tea towel and it works a treat.

Good call on the furminator it's been a god send for us, our long haired spaniel/lab cross is Sheddy McCastsalot & it's cut the stray hairs right down.

If you have a dog you will get dog hair, no matter how much you vacum. I have 3 and vacum 3x per day. Just part of owining a dog im afraid

I have a black lab and cream carpets (the carpets were here before the dog. Well, they were originally cream. Now they are more "muddy ditch brown" shade). I understand. No help but I sympathise.

I prefer a Shedding blade for my terrier! he's quite fine skinned and although the fulminator is great at shifting a loose coat he tolerates the blade much more.

Furminators are the business! I've got a very shaggy westie and one pass of the furminator removes more fur than brushing the entire dog.

We bought a grey carpet with a black fleck to suit our black Labrador hairs.

We have a Jack Russell / Poodle Cross - £35 for quarterly clipping but not a single hair shed in the meantime! Q
