To wonder what on earth to do today?

I realise this is a bit ridiculous.

I have not had a day off in a couple of months. House is a mess, it's a beautiful day. There's me, DP, and two DCs aged 3.5 and 18 months.

We can do whatever we want today, but I don't know where to start! What do people do when they're not at their jobs? I hardly remember!

Maybe clean the house a bit and then take DCs to park? Or, what would you suggest?

Never clean the house when the sun shines :)

Can DCs potter in the garden whilst you get to chill out and get some sun? Mine are as often happy doing that as going to the park.

Or is there a local country park/petting farm?

Enjoy! I'm off to work

I've got a big long list of various DIY bits and pieces I need from the shops which were closed yesterday. So we're having a day out at Homebase :)

where are you? Is the weather good? It was awful here yesterday but looking good today so we'll probably get OUT of the house after being cooped up. Do two hrs in the house, get some chores done while the kids are in their best mood, then maybe go to a country park or wood with a picnic. Low maintenance, free and will take out the bulk of the day from say 10.30-3pm. If little one sleeps in the car that takes care of nap.
OR bite the bullet and find a proper day out. there's loads on today, Easter stuff and knights and jousting etc, or a steam railway...

Stay in bed for as long as you can keep the DCs entertained (as quietly as possible) in or around you.
Get up and make a picnic - whatever's in the fridge and takes less than 15 mins to prepare brunch- having let them eat a bit if Easter egg to tide them over till you decide to get up .. Stick on their wellies and go for a squelchy walk in local park/woods/beach. Come home and flop( put cbeebies on the telly or their favourite Disney DVD) get takeaway for supper.
Or you could tidy the house while shooing the DC from under your feet and giving DP evils as he shows them how to play that alphabet game on the laptop secretly watches you tube videos of bendy ladies dancing with one leg wrapped round the neck of Bengal tiger :)
