Need Mumsnet collective opinions please (light hearted) - AIBU to not want my OH to head to the pub for a couple of pints tonight after already having his limit to drive, when I'm less than a week until my Duedate for baby no2? Grin

YANBU!

ContinentalKat · 20/04/2014 21:06

As long as he won't be too pissed to sit in a taxi...?

Joules68 · 20/04/2014 21:07

Is he walking?

Billygoats · 20/04/2014 21:08

YANBU. Unless he plans to carry you!

I was at a Christmas do the night before I went into labour and I was so relieved my DH chose to stay sober, he was annoying enough at the hospital let alone had he been drunk!

Clargo55 · 20/04/2014 21:08

Do you have anyone else who could take you to the hospital? Would you mind getting a taxi?
Who will look after DC1 when you are in labour?

For what's its worth I think YANBU.

I wouldn't be happy about being in the pub, as it can be a nightmare contacting someone. My DH can never hear his phone over the music and bustle of a pub.

I think he needs to knock to boozing on the head for now.

He's already had a drink.

RuthlessBaggage · 20/04/2014 21:09

I always wanted DH to be fit to drive when I was close to my due date. Some MNers find that controlling; others prefer complete sobriety from birth partners from 36w.

Debatable continental based on previous 1-2 pint promises!

Walking to the pub, yes Joules But I won't be the 20 miles to hospital if needed Wink

20 miles in a taxi would cost a small fortune!

lemonfolly · 20/04/2014 21:14

Thanks all! DC1 has granny on standby. I'm not sure I could find a taxi around in our parts past midnight, so ideally I need him sober... Not sure I'd feel too comfortable wailing in a cab either lol
