To let my husband supervise this impromptu playdate?

Boy called round with an invitation for my son. Husband says, 'Do you want to come in for a bit?' Boy says, 'I'll just ask my mum.' Comes back 5 mins later with his sister. Husband is baffled and says he was only being polite.

I am sniggering upstairs letting him supervise them. He is also on tea duty tonight ( and has been all week as his parents are here) so I will just let him figure out this will all work.

Yes, why on earth not?

How old are these children? And why does his parents being there mean he has to do all the cooking too (if that's what you meant?)

All fine. I just went upstairs and they mainly sorted themselves out. But he had to wrestle them out the door, handle snacks, fend off requests for screen time, all that jazz. He's sorry now!

And I do nearly everything else for his parents' visits, and delegating the cooking is absolutely fine in my view. He's good at it, I am long term ill, I keep the kids occupied most of the time so he can chat to his folks, I do the tidying and cleaning and so on, and I cook most of the rest of the time, so men. Am probably U about that, but not what I asked!
