To think DS should just pick one parent..

To read his book?
DS enjoys having a chapter book read to him each night. He likes to do the dialogue whilst we read the rest.
However, he isn't consistent in his choice of adult which means I miss great chunks of the story...
AIBU to insist he picks one of us for the whole book so I get to find out what happens next?

I used to read their books when they were asleep, if I wanted to know the rest of the story.

thebody · 08/04/2014 09:38

Grin yep nick the book to read.

neverputasockinatoaster · 08/04/2014 09:38

Sadly DS is obsessive about his books (he has an ASD) and they go straight back on his shelves. As they are the only thing he will put away unprompted I am reluctant to mess up his system!
Also he doesn't sleep and his room is littered with Lego death traps so I can't sneak in and get them!
DD will just hand over her books if I want to know the ending but DS gives me a lecture on how they are for CHILDREN and not age appropriate for me.

You'll have to get DH to update you when he's finished Grin

neverputasockinatoaster · 08/04/2014 09:44

DH is under instruction to be 'busy' tonight as it is the last chapter. Grin

Put a baby monitor in his room and listen in with a cuppa?

FourForksAche · 08/04/2014 09:54

Grin yabu but funny.

PorkPieandPickle · 08/04/2014 09:57

I like lucked idea :)

Update:I read the last chapter tonight.
What a Swizz! Monster defeated but story inconclusive. There's another one in the series...
I am regretting getting so emotionally involved in the lives of the characters. It's the Wheel Of Time all over again!

You're not reading Beast Quest books are you?

Swansinflight · 08/04/2014 23:19

So go on what's the story? DS (8) and DH have got through two Harry Potter books together the last few days and he's not bloody getting to read the third one Grin

I have been demoted to reading DD the Magic fucking Faraway Tree which I consider cruel and unusual punishment. But can't tell DD that because she is 5 and adores it.

neverputasockinatoaster · 08/04/2014 23:23

Sea Quest.
When DS got into them I really didn't realise what a formulaic brand they were.
DD is currently obsessed by Princess Katie and her kittens.

I keep trying with Narnia and Harry Potter but to no avail.
There was a brief interlude of Ronald Dahl but we are back to Princess sodding Katie and her poorly behaved kittens and Max and his robot dog...
