AIBU To think my DH should sign this petition?

Name changed as this identifies me!

After coming home late from work a couple of weeks ago, I was first to get to the scene of a nasty road accident outside my house.
Tragically, one of the drivers died as I was trying to help him.
As a result of this, I have come in to contact with neighbours that are also concerned about Road safety in our village.
We attended a Parish Council meeting where we were encouraged to start a petition to the County Council to get a road safety review.
DH agrees that we need the village to be safe for our DD, but was 'too tired' to go to the meeting after work so asked me to go.

So, I start the petition online.
Get local paper coverage and support etc.
Been trying really hard to drum up support on Facebook / Twitter.
Forward links to my husband.

Been going for weeks. He STILL hasn't signed it! I need to get it in to the Highways panel this week.

AIBU to be pissed off that after saying all the right things, he can't be arsed to enter a few details online. (He spends ALL evening on his laptop anyway!)

Hempstead Road.
I think it bugs me more that he said I 'should' go to the meeting to show support to our neighbour!

Can you not sign it on his behalf if it's online?

MustShowDH · 07/04/2014 00:44

Yes, I could, but I'm annoyed that he's not supporting me.

StrawberryGashes · 07/04/2014 01:04

Sign it on his behalf.

Why was it in quote marks that he was too tired, was he not really tired?

Signed it. I'm a Watford girl Grin

And yes I agree your DH should sign the petition. It took me literally seconds to do it so why cant he?

MustShowDH · 07/04/2014 11:19

Strawberry, no, I don't think he was, just didn't want to go. That's fine, but don't then volunteer me to go.

Thanks for signing everyone.

God loves a trier Grin

If you signed it for him, you wouldn't have had a reason to advertise it on Mumsnet would you? Wink

The thing is, what is the point in any of us signing it if we don't live in your area?

Why not try MN local? You might get more interest there.

Good luck Thanks

IrishBloodEnglishHeart · 07/04/2014 11:26

Just fyi, if you didn't want to be identified, doesn't the link rather out you?

KittensoftPuppydog · 07/04/2014 11:29

Just wanted to say how awful for you. Must have been a dreadful experience.
Of course he should sign.

ICanSeeTheSun · 07/04/2014 12:13

Can anyone sign or just local people.

Dawndonnaagain · 07/04/2014 12:24

I used to live in Garston, many moons ago. Have signed.

MustShowDH · 07/04/2014 13:56

WorraWink (doesn't mean he hasn't annoyed me though!)

Yes, anyone can sign it.

As for being identified, I don't mind this post being linked to the real me, but not the stuff I post under my usual user name!!!!

Thank you kittens. Was shaken up at the time, but fine now. Although I'd like to have the chance to say to his family that he didn't die alone, that somebody was holding his hand and reassuring him (not that he ever gained consciousness, so didn't suffer.)
