To wonder why I can tickle myself?

Apparently you're not meant to be able to tickle yourself. It often comes up in things like trivia quizzes and the like that the only place you can tickle yourself is the roof of your mouth with your tongue but you can't tickle yourself in other places.

However I've always been able to tickle myself. My feet are the most ticklish but I can tickle myself under my ribs and armpits too. It tickles as much as when someone else tickles me.

I did ask Google this but all it turned up was pages on Schizophrenia and about how being able to tickle yourself was a sign of schizophrenia and schizophrenics can tickle themselves but other people can't, etc . Which freaked me out.

I'm pretty sure I'm not schizophrenic...however I can't be the only non-schizophrenic person in the world who can tickle themselves!

This is an odd topic I know It's also slightly lighthearted.

I can tickle my foot but it's more of an irritation than a "haha" tickle kind of thing.

I can tickle the palms of my hands and feet (amd roof of moth), but not ribs. I also have an over active startle reflex. Pretty certain I'm not schizophrenic either.

So can I and (as far as I know) I don't have schizophrenia

That's another thing I forgot - I can tickle the palms of my hands too.

Seriously all the googling I'm doing is just bringing up that it's not possible to tickle yourself (unless schizophrenic of course)

So are we just freaks...or what?

I've had a couple of glasses of wine or three. That could have dulled my reactioms somewhat.

Now I've just discovered I can tickle the roof of my mouth and the palm of my hand, should I be worried?
