To order a Japanese takeout for tea

I'm in my second trimester and really fancy a seafood noodle dish from my favourite Japanese take out for tea. It contains mussels, squid, prawn and scallop. Is this risky?

I personally wouldn't risk it. Sounds gorgeous though, and seriously wish we had such a thing as a Japanese take out round here! envy]
The most exotic take out round here is Indian (LOVE Indian takeaways but it's hardly uncommon Smile

It is a lovely place bethcalavicci. I wait to stuff my face with all things seafood and lots of Brie. Mmmmmm roll on the due date........

I think ordering it from a takeaway where it's been festering for a while is a bad idea, but maybe going to a fishmonger and buying proper fresh ingredients and making it yourself if you really want it?
sounds like a lot of effort though!

TheScience · 02/04/2014 18:47

What's the risk? It's all cooked isn't it?

PorkyMinch · 02/04/2014 18:57

I'd eat it, assuming they had a hygiene rating.

ILoveTamsinGreig · 02/04/2014 18:59

I'd eat it. Why would it be festering more in a takeaway than in a fishmongers?

curiousgeorgie · 02/04/2014 19:08

I'd eat it. In fact... I may just eat it tonight Wink

BikeRunSki · 02/04/2014 19:10

Ooo, where do I have to live to have a Japanese take away ?

Fwiw, i ate fishy supermarket sushi throughout both pg with no probs.

Beachcombergirl · 02/04/2014 19:10

It's so tempting. I am pretty sure they are scrupulously clean, the seafood always seems very very fresh.

And seafood.

TheScience · 02/04/2014 19:19

Look up their food hygiene rating.

Tbh, I stuck to the NHS banned advice, especially regarding listeria, but I didn't avoid any extras.

Beachcombergirl · 02/04/2014 19:30

I've chickened out. I feel very disappointed. I hate the food part of being pregnant.

Im very jealous you have a Japanese takeaway!

Plateofcrumbs · 02/04/2014 19:53

I wouldn't have thought twice about wolfing that - yum!

Jolleigh · 02/04/2014 20:01

I've eaten all of those things during this pregnancy but only from eateries I trust.

Very jealous you have a Japanese take out near you. Grin

WelshMaenad · 02/04/2014 20:03

I ate boatloads of sashimi when pregnant with DS. Do it. Only thing that's ever made me ill is a veggie pasta dish from Old Orleans!

Binkybix · 02/04/2014 20:09

I ate stuff like that all the time when pregnant :)

ilovepowerhoop · 02/04/2014 21:06

cooked shellfish is fine in pregnancy
