Looks a lot like a maggot, but greener.

ScarletLady02 · 29/03/2014 10:06

Looks like a caterpillar.

traininthedistance · 29/03/2014 10:06

Looks like a little caterpillar! Is it alive? Can you put it outside?

slartybartfast · 29/03/2014 10:07

caterpillar, or grub

scarletforya · 29/03/2014 10:07

Wow. A play dough caterpillar!?

ScarletLady02 · 29/03/2014 10:09

Is it moving? I've seen caterpillars like that but they move in quite a distinctive way

ScarletLady02 · 29/03/2014 10:10

ilovepowerhoop · 29/03/2014 10:13

definitely looks like a caterpillar

manticlimactic · 29/03/2014 10:22

Definitely a caterpillar

FudgefaceMcZ · 29/03/2014 10:28

Looks like a brimstone or maybe skipper caterpillar, though there are some other similar kinds esp moth ones, though it doesn't seem to have spike like hawkmoth ones and I'm not too sure of others. You could do with a size scale. I'm guessing from the smear by the side that it's been pecked by a bird or squashed :(.

Good caterpillar ID guide here since you can see it closer than us www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php

zobey · 29/03/2014 11:38

I've binned everything and bought them new just in case it's a maggot. Now time to scrub their kitchen from top to bottom.

OP posts:
MooMa42o · 29/03/2014 11:43

what have you binned? and what have you brought new? i am confused, it is definitely a caterpillar!

ilovepowerhoop · 29/03/2014 11:47

FFS its only a caterpillar not the bubonic plague!! What needed binning and why does everything need scrubbing??

ilovepowerhoop · 29/03/2014 11:47

its not an effing maggot

gordyslovesheep · 29/03/2014 11:48

jees over reaction much! It's a caterpillar not a dirty bomb

GreenShadow · 29/03/2014 11:50

Binned everything !!

For goodness sake, have you never seen a caterpiller before?

Macocious · 29/03/2014 11:52

trashcanjunkie · 29/03/2014 11:52

IT'S A CATERPILLAR!

ilovepowerhoop · 29/03/2014 11:53

when I was wee I used to collect caterpillars from the leaves in a bush at a house up the road from me and put them in a jar hoping they would turn into butterflies. Used to also collect rose petals to make 'perfume'
