Help - moving to Lincolnshire!

Hi,
I am in the process of moving back to Lincolnshire after 22 years of London life.
We have found a lovely house in Grosvenor Avenue off Skellingthorpe road but have been told that there is a risk of flooding.
Does anyone know if this has happened before or if this is the environment agency giving us the worst case scenario.
Fingers crossed,but please be honest.

I used to be involved with flood work in lincoln. Can't think where Grosvenor ave is now. The streets I've seen flooded are at the Doddington park end, fulmar ave and some of the closes off it. It was an exceptional storm.

To be honest I think the EA would have to say most of the Doddington road, skelly road area is liable to flood as its very low lying.

Since the floods (which are about 15 years ago) I haven't heard of more flooding. But not involved in that area anymore, but nothing bad enough to make the news. They did lower the level of Hartsholme lake after the flood so it can accept more rainwater which should help.

I have a friend who lives in skellingthorpe, she's never been flooded in the 10 years I've known her.
