I mean really. I've been having a pretty shit week and then yesterday I could feel the tell-tale signs...the stiffening, the shooting pains...It's joining up with the random frontal abdominal pain I've been having for weeks which is befuddling my doctor.

YES this is a self-indulgent moan, I'm feeling sorry for myself

The tennis ball thing is what finally relieved me of my limp. It's about 7 years later and I now have just a few tingles every now and again, which prompts me to do the stretches and tennis ball thing again - has kept me relatively pain and limp free since, so I highly recommend it, and it's free!

If you youtube search, there are other methods, with two tennis balls and a sock. Again - free!

Yes have it myself due to sports injury. Volterol heat patches are your friend. Have won sports competitions whilst wearing them

My Dh has just recovered from a really bad flare up

Nhs phsio helped after the acute phase.

GP prescribed Naproxen (my mum also takes this) and CO codamol which he didn't really like. Yy to heat pads as well.

Another friend swears by heat AND cold packs
