To think i am nothing but a doorperson

To my cat.

She won't use a cat flap since one shut on her tail years ago, and expects me to open and shut the door at her will, If I go upstairs she's there desperate to come in, 5 mins after she's come in she's desperate to go out again!
It's worse today because the weather is warm.
Does anyone else have this first world problem? AIBU to spoil her by being her doorperson?

She also expects me to open any closed door in the house or she will howl like a dog until it's open.

When I have children I'm determined to be stricter honestly.

It's warm so leave the door open.. Or put her out and leave it shut. She won't freeze.

She's staying in now cos I have to go to work this pm. I think I'm just too soft.

Same here, the cat flap never appealed to my cats' sense of importance.

He, in particular , will whine until I let him out of the door he wants to depart from, even if there's another door available and open. She just sits and stares at me until I give in and follow her.

I do love them though and bend to their will.

YABU. That is one of the things you are there for.

ps. I have spent the best part of the morning opening the window/closing it for her - just so she can look out.

Sigh...she's looking at me again...

One of our cats came in one door yesterday, went across the room, and asked to be let out the other door, same room. He asks by sitting by door and looking up at me.

I left the cat outside last night. The dog had to wake me up to go let her in. She was not happy with me.

Seems like I'm not very good as a door person

I am far stricter with the child than the cat...

I too am my cats door person.... She too thinks I am a rubbish door person

I spend the day letting my cat in and out, we rent and si cann not put a cat flap in, I really miss having a cat flap I never realised how many times the cat went in and out.

Be glad she doesn't make you wear a uniform...yet.

Maybe hire a cat butler, to open and close doors? I have a DH well-trained cat butler for hire.

Our cat is not allowed back in via cat flap or she will bring mice in.

So she either miaows at the bedroom window at 3 am or sits by the French doors. You go to let her in and she walks the other way.

I showed my Sirius how to use the new cat flap. So he sits next to it and presses the flap with his paw.

Sophia sits by the front door and waits until a suitable slave walks past. Don't start me on the... I'm not drinking water from a dish human.. You will follow me upstairs and turn the tap on at the sink thank you very much!

And I wouldn't change it. ;).

Sadly birds ad shrews are frequently brought in. Already dispatched thankfully.
