To not want to watch Frozen now?

DH is obsessed with the bloody SONG. And the african tribe version which he sent me saying it was "amazing". OK, the singer is talented, but I was unmoved. (Sorry.)

He says everyone is obsessed with the song after they have seen the film. Yet he has watched it alone. I made the mistake of saying that maybe we could watch films like this as a family, because I'm not often moved to watch animated children's films (or any films, really) alone and now he's decided that I can use "my" weekend to decide to watch it altogether. Which I probably will, because he won't choose to watch a film on "his" weekend and DS only wants to play Family Minecraft. Hmm

Just tell him you don't want to?

LovelyJubblies · 17/02/2014 21:34

I watched the film and cannot remember the song!
It is a brilliant film though.

ToootSweet · 17/02/2014 21:35

So what exactly is the problem?
You will have to watch the film on your own?
Don't watch it then.

southeastastra · 17/02/2014 21:38

is that the film where all the humans has massive bug eyes

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 17/02/2014 21:40

It's one of the new Disney films so I suppose they do have quite bug like eyes.

No, I do want to watch it (with DH and DS) but now I'm annoyed by the song so I have an irrational irritation with it and hence don't want to watch it! Even though I do Confused

It's a fantastic film.

Are you talking about the song 'let it go'? I love that song too. I'm such a child Grin

CSIJanner · 17/02/2014 21:40

You'll be singing "let it go" or "do you want to build a snowman" more than humming the Vuelie

LyndaCartersBigPants · 17/02/2014 21:43

The songs are very catchy, my dd and her friends have been singing them all day and they are now stuck in my head!

Don't be a misery, watch it and enjoy it! There's an important message for girls about true love in there too, which is a nice antidote to all the Disney princess schmaltz.

caketinrosie · 17/02/2014 21:45

Oh it's fab watch it! I hate it when I have to sit through the latest animated flick and I was ready to hate it, I couldn't have been more wrong. Really loved it Grin

Shakey1500 · 17/02/2014 21:47

I quite enjoyed the songs hated the snowman though

BUT the most fabulous thing was the Mickey Mouse 3D thingy before the film! Simply THE best thing I've ever seen in the cinema. Did everyone else see it or was it a "Vue Cinema" only thing?

plus3 · 17/02/2014 21:52

It's ok...it's just a song that my DD is utterly obsessed with as well

It's short, watchable and I loved the end.

Lj8893 · 17/02/2014 21:53

Anything with idina menzal has got to be good!! I haven't seen it yet, really want to though!

MsVestibule · 17/02/2014 21:53

I can't remember the song (even after I googled it) but it is a really good film and the soundtrack is great too. Bit confused about 'my' weekends and 'his' weekends though Confused.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 17/02/2014 21:54

We saw the Mickey Mouse thing too but it was a vue cinema too. It was brilliant!

Op you will not be sorry, it is very good and very watchable and I don't usually like these kind of films.

Weegiemum · 17/02/2014 21:58

The best song is "Reindeers are nicer than people" IMO. Good film, though. Am sad it got the best animation bafta though as Despicable Me 2 was miles better!

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 17/02/2014 21:59

Let It Go is the song I mean.

Weekends thing is that we got into a pattern of doing nothing at the weekends so decided we'd take turns, DH, me and DS to choose what we do each weekend. And everyone else has to go along with it without complaining (although we get to veto DS' suggestions if they are ridiculous, because he's 5) but it also means that we actually have to think of something to do rather than going ugh, let's tidy up and then just vegging until it's too late to decide to do anything (although, of course we could choose that too...)

The dc dragged us out to watch Frozen. The characters burst into song every five minutes. Most of the film is sung. It absolutely did my bloody head in and half way through I was cringing and squirming in my seat to be let out. If I hear that bloody let it go song ^one more time* I will commit murder.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 17/02/2014 22:01

See, even the bloody italics let me down. Grin

RunRabbit · 17/02/2014 22:01

Just watched it. Don't like the song.

The film was ok - I think it's overhyped and I felt underwhelmed. Like Brave. But at least Brave had decent songs.

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 17/02/2014 22:02

Oh god, it's a musical? DH what have you become?!

OP posts:
BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 17/02/2014 22:02

I have to watch it now, but I fear I will snort inappropriately at the wrong moments Blush

OP posts:
GoodnessIsThatTheTime · 17/02/2014 22:03

I loved it. And brave. Both have good characters and not the usual Disney rubbish.

Just watch it!

plus3 · 17/02/2014 22:04

It's not a lot of time out of a weekend though...do something fun on your turn, then graciously accept to watch on his weekend. You might enjoy it...?!

Itsaboatjack · 17/02/2014 22:05

In that case Ilovemydog, you will need m.youtube.com/watch?v=m4jPQw5nSIY this song

MelanieCheeks · 17/02/2014 22:10

You've suggested you should watch family movies together. Everyone else ( have I got this right?) likes frozen and wants to watch it with you.

It's about 90 minutes long. Fwiw I loved it and would happily snuggle on the sofa on a wet weekend afternoon watching it again.

I'm not really seeing why you feel what is being asked of you is unreasonable.
