Has anyone updated from Office 2007 to something more recent?

Was it worth it?

I would have been happy to stay with Office 2000, but I found I couldn't open all the files I needed to.

I imagine there will be an Office 2015 or some such coming out soon.

So, basically, are you happy you updated?

I can't stand what they've done to Office - weird layout and I can't find a thing. I've switched to OpenOffice and can create .doc files, so it works for me. Mind you, that's self -employed. When I get something in .docx to read, I can use a reader. Otherwise, I seem to remember I can make changes then save as an .rtf

Yep. LibreOffice 4.2 for Ubuntu Linux 13.10. Bye bye Micro$oft.
