It is a.beautiful and moving speech and I think the comments could be applied to lots of other groups who are oppressed in similar ways.

It is just so amazing to see someone stand up and speak so eloquently about what it is like to be gay in this little country we live in, where nobody pays much attention to the fact that we are decades behind our very close neighbours in the UK in terms of gay rights, and be heard!
