Asda home delivery fail

Has anyone else had problems with Asda failing to deliver? I have had shocking service from them after a failed delivery on Thursday evening. I am a working mum with a long commute so home delivery is my lifeline. 2 days later and I've just been told I won't be getting my shopping and I can have a refund and a pathetic voucher. Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this? The cupboards are bare and I am fuming, stuck inside with a sick 13month old DS. An interesting weekend lies before me...

I get my shopping from Asda every week - they haven't ever failed to turn up but on three occasions over the last month my shopping has been incomplete - once about half my order was missing. I rang repeatedly but could only get a refund not redelivery. Now I count my order when it arrives! Definitely think there are issues with the home delivery service.

Had the same problem. They were late, driver called me babes, several items missing, subs were useless and they didn't have a particular pizza in stock - create your own one - ??? So sent no pizza. They are awful. Never again.

helenthemadex · 01/02/2014 12:39

I always had problems with Asda usually half the order was missing, orders not delivered I use Ocado now, and so far no problems its slightly more expensive but cheaper than tescos!

revealall · 01/02/2014 12:39

No problems here.

Why didn't you just reorder Thursday night? I was shocked when I did a one off Waitrose order (to get free champagne!) that they don't take orders/changes after 11.30 AM the day before. Asda you can order and change up to 11.00 PM the night before. It's a godsend when you use the last of something just before the order is due to arrive.

Sorry, get what you mean now.

Did they say why they can't deliver, is it weather related?
I'd just order from elsewhere though.

Chwaraeteg · 01/02/2014 12:51

Never had them fail to deliver but have had some shocking substitutions from them. E.g naan bread instead of garlic bread, instant decaf coffee instead of filter coffee. I've tried Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury delivery in this area and Asda are by far the worst.

TheDoctorsNewKidneys · 01/02/2014 12:52

Princess if we don't have a particular topping for create your own pizzas, we won't make one at all, because we don't know if the customer has an allergy to any of the possible substitutes.

HobbetInTheHeadlights · 01/02/2014 12:52

We were fine for months - then they changed the driver.

First time he turned up two hours late and asked if we wanted our shopping - was very surprised and put out when we said yes ( thinking of course we bloody did) and he moaned and moaned.

Next month delivery - didn't turn up - phoned up and found it eventually had been canceled.

Started shopping again with Tesco - no issues at all.

JoJo90 · 01/02/2014 12:58

After constant problems with their website I binned Asda for Sainsburys and have had trouble free online shopping since

PrincessWellington · 01/02/2014 13:23

Thedoctors - so send a similar boxed pizza! Have some common sense. Or you could always call me given you require my phone number. If I've ordered a chorizo pizza I'm not allergic to a cheese and tomato pizza am I? That's a rubbish excuse and it shows how brainwashed you are as an employee.

itsbetterthanabox · 01/02/2014 13:25

Asda are terrible even when you do get your shopping. They gave me mouldy fruit and they substitute so much! Tesco is much better and about the same price. I've always had good deliveries from them.

PrincessWellington · 01/02/2014 13:30

Have used tesco over the past three years - one issue with milk not being delivered but that was it. Asda need to sort theirselves out before bragging their delivery is cheaper. I thank my lucky stars I did not sign up for the three month offer.

PaulaAtMummyKnowsBest · 01/02/2014 13:41

I've had something similar this week but with tesco. I booked my order for 7-8 pm on Tuesday . At 8.20, they phoned me to tell me there was a problem with their delivery and they had taken my shopping back to the store. They told me they would credit my card in 3-5 days with the payment and could they reschedule the delivery. I said yes please tomorrow at the same time. This should then be coming Wednesday evening between 7-8, and another payment for the "new" order. So over £300 to be taken out and then a wait for the first lot of money to be put back into my account.
Wednesday evening at 7.58, the driver calls to tell me he is running late.
DH has to go out at 8 for a pre arranged appointment so I am left trying to bath and get my 3 month old into bed as well as look after the older DC, knowing that I will also have to get the delivery in. I need the food order though so don't have much choice. The delivery comes 20 minutes later in the middle of me feeding the baby.

The next day, I realise that some of the offers that were valid on Wednesday had no longer been valid on Wednesday so to only did I get one failed delivery and one late delivery, I also got charged more for the privilege of being messed about!

BettyMacdonald · 01/02/2014 13:50

There have been threads about asda home delivery before with some shocking stories. I have used them once before and they were dreadful - late and half the order missing. I occasionally use Tesco home delivery, it's without fail been on time and although there have been a few substitutions they've mostly been acceptable.

If you missed offers with Tesco, call them! Their home delivery customer service is great!

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 01/02/2014 14:13

Asda almost ruined our Christmas, and didnt give a shit. This was after getting worse and worse over a few months (store the delivery came from changed - although they weren't great before that!) - delivering all sorts of crap.

Have been using Sainsburys weekly since - always on time, sometimes early (they call to check convenience), just TWO substitutions in five deliveries, both entirely reasonable subs AND, my favourite - really long dates on the products iv'e ordered, at least a week on most stuff.

I LOVE SAINSBURYS!
