To change energy providers at this point?

We moved house in October.

We have the same supplier in the new house, as we did in the old one. Except they can't seem to get or understand that we have moved. They seem to think we are in another house which is neither of the two, but they aren't sureHmm. I have complained. A LOT. We don't know what tarif we are on, or how much we have spent. We have never had a bill.

They are trying to sort it, and have been doing since January. It is part of a huge cock up in their IT system.

Except I'm sick of it all. Should I just switch providers? They don't seem to think we exist

Yes! Sounds like they have been crap. I'd switch.

LaurieFairyCake · 01/02/2014 08:31

Any chance it's Npower ?

I also moved in October and have the exact same problem.

I've given them 4 lots of meter readings and they still sent an estimated bill Hmm

Just switched last week to Ovo but haven't had any paperwork through yet

Orangeanddemons · 01/02/2014 08:33

No it's Scottishpower. Hopefully if we switch, they won't be able to find us or charge us Grin

Gah! We are just moving TO Scottishpower, to save some money. Hope they're not generally pants!

jacks365 · 02/02/2014 00:36

I seem to be using Scottish power as a sort of saving scheme. They keep messing up and having to issue me refunds. Keep a really good eye on them if you do switch.

DoJo · 02/02/2014 00:48

Switch - they're all shit, but a change is as good as a rest and they certainly don't deserve your loyalty!

CocktailQueen · 02/02/2014 09:58

Oh, great! I guess they're all as bad as each other.

MummyKnight · 02/02/2014 10:07

Switch. I left NPower in November and they said they were sending the final bill. They then took 2 more direct debits from us when we had already started paying the new supplier so we've been paying twice! After calling everyday for a month I finally managed to speak to someone at NPower who said it was an IT glitch in their part! Think it's sorted now but I won't know for sure until the final bill comes (hopefully accompanied by a nice cheque)!

All energy suppliers are as bad as each other!

specialsubject · 02/02/2014 10:35

interesting - I always found Scottish Power's IT to work perfectly. Npower's doesn't, currently on £40 of compo after less than two months.

remember all IT systems are specified by idiot managers and then implemented by people pressured to work over-long hours. It's actually a miracle that anything works!

poocatcherchampion · 02/02/2014 20:42

we had the same with British gas! I can't see how it is So problematic. link house to your system. measure usage. bill household.

I should work there.

Orangeanddemons · 03/02/2014 07:31

But they don't have a record of us Hmm, so no direct debit. I could just disappear into the ether and they wouldn't be able to find me to charge me Grin
