Told I was boring!

I work in a job where I have to visit people and assess their needs and suitability for residing with us.

We've recently changed systems and I've had to create new paperwork. I have spent the last two days creating questions and tables tick boxes etc. knowing that I had an assessment this afternoon. I finished the documents with a minute to spare. Sped down to the main office to print them out and left to visit the person (and get lost as it happens) full of satisfaction that I completed them in time and they were new and so awesome Wink

I went through the assessment questions. She told I was boring. I was boring her and why on earth was I asking such questions!

I love my job and meeting people and she made me feel welcome and told me about her past, her dog get hobbies etc. she did tell me when I left that she enjoyed meeting me and couldn't wait to stay with us!

Am I unreasonable to be a little miffed that my maiden voyage with my new documents was a flop?! GrinGrinGrinSmileSmile

It's not the forms. You're not boring.

It was her.

Crinkle77 · 31/01/2014 15:28

Was she old or have any sort of learning difficulties at all that might explain her behaviour?

Slutbucket · 31/01/2014 15:35

Thing is there is a way to fill out the forms. You can make it more like a conversation rather than a tick box exercise. You may love your form but most people won't.,.., however my job involves designing a lot of forms! I love it my colleagues don't!

Yes. She had some issues. She's fabulous! I have no problem with her!!

I'm just annoyed that my forms were not so awesome Wink

I don't ask the questions per say I use conversation and the q's are more like prompts.

Still I have areas my form needs adapting and was an easy assessment for its maiden voyage. Strive to improve and all that jazz!

my grannie has dementia and as it slowly gets worse she gets more crotchety and disinhibited

as a result we are all regularly told how boring we are Grin

I did promise her next time I saw her I'd be less boring! However as I was leaving she asked why I had come to see her and had I come to see her dog ??
