To think that nature programs are just so stylised

I'm watching Hidden Kingdoms on bbc 1 and it is just so fake and stylised. Hmm

It's so disappointing and far removed from the amazing David Attenborough programs I used to watch with my dad when I was little. It fuelled my love of animals and was always so fascinating but I'm watching this and think it doesn't even looks real anymore, what's the point?

Stupid metal clanking noises for fighting rhinoceros beetles and crap cut and paste jobs. Grr!

Yes I thought that last week

And they can never get the colours right, everything's so bright and fake looking.

Lioninthesun · 30/01/2014 20:30

Yes, and the sound effects are like cartoons Hmm

Theknacktoflying · 30/01/2014 20:30

And I have been told that sometimes things are also orchestrated/staged.

I saw that one about Brazil the other week and was very Hmm about some of the supposedly dramatic incidents where small baby otters or monkeys or piggy little things were being stalked by horrid crocodiles or jaguars, only to escape unscathed at last moment. Every single time.

This is the first time I have watched it. I am just amazed at how the bbc has gone from making the most wonderful, amazing, innovative and inspirational nature programs to this shit.

The sound effects are just laughable! Seriously, the crow sounds like bloody Godzilla!!

I'm desperate to turn over but my dog has stolen the remote and is fascinated by the marmosets.

He thinks they are actually hiding behind the tv so keeps looking behind it incase one jumps out on him Wink

At least your dog is enjoying it! My dog is just waiting for food even though I don't have any! Smile

I'm in agreement. And my bastard dogs have just got onto THE DINNER TABLE and stolen a whole plate of organic roast carrots that I was going to give them anyway cos nobody human would eat them

Stinkyminkymoo · 30/01/2014 20:57

Boy those little marmosets are sweet! You know, the ones they filmed in Cumbria. Wink

And now he's glued to The truth about your dogs food! On the plus side it does mean I can scoff a stash of digestives without having 'sad deprived face' making me feel guilty Wink
