Well so the fuck would I if I was drinking my coffee and enjoying your good news and you thrust a piss covered stick in my face!

A little decorum if you please.

Que?

TalkieToaster · 27/01/2014 15:51

The ClearBlue tv advert, Pascha. It is a horrible, cringeworthy advert.

Digital PISS STICK

BonaDrag · 27/01/2014 15:54

Can someone please explain how it knows you are 1-2 weeks? I was under the impression the weeks were counted from LMP when you were not actually pregnant.

Can clear blue see into the future? Woo...

Anyway, I agree, bloody annoying advert.

HoneyDragon · 27/01/2014 15:54

Measures your Hg levels in yer piss

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 27/01/2014 15:55

Although I now think it should be called the Woo Stick

OP posts:
MarianneEnjolras · 27/01/2014 15:56

I think it measures the level of hormone.

Pascha · 27/01/2014 15:57

Oh. My life is Cbeebies or Cars or Planes. I see very little in the way of adverts now.

I can't imagine wanting to share my piss sticks with anyone.

TalkieToaster · 27/01/2014 15:57

I think the woman is going to cry because she thinks it's being offered to her as a coffee stirrer.

BonaDrag · 27/01/2014 16:00

But when I pissed on a (not woo) stick, and it was positive, the midwife worked out I was about six weeks at my appointment a week later. She counted the weeks from my last period. And it was spot on as DD arrived on her due date.

MeepMeepVrooooom · 27/01/2014 16:03

Not related to the advert but I just do not like clear-blue. According to their tests I wasn't pregnant (test taken at 6 weeks). I have a DD that is 2.5 that begs to differ.

On the other hand I have had friends who have had difficulty conceiving and have taken an early clear blue test and it has come up positive when and then it turns out they have had a chemical pregnancy.

So OP without even seeing the advert YANBU Grin

Astarael · 27/01/2014 16:03

It counts the weeks since conception so if it says 1-2 weeks you're actually 3-4 weeks may have pissed on a few in my Imelda

Also annoying is the fact that the advert is so awfully dubbed. Truly cringeworthy!!

Astarael · 27/01/2014 16:04

Haha Imelda = time

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 27/01/2014 16:06

I saw this earlier for the first time. My favourite bit was at the bottom of the screen at the end it says something like 'you must consult a doctor before use' Wtf? I actually had to rewind the tv just to check I wasn't seeing things Grin

HelloBoys · 27/01/2014 16:09

I just think oversharing....

BonaDrag · 27/01/2014 16:11

:o Imelda

whiteblossom · 27/01/2014 16:15

Oh I hate those digital piss sticks, never work and bloody expensive. Stupid thing gave me an error message, At that price I expect it to work and not have to wait until the shops open to go and buy a different brand that does bloody work.

YANBU I hate that advert, they should be advertising yogurt or something to look at them.

MyNameIsWinkly · 27/01/2014 16:17

Fucking awful advert, fucking awful contraptions, bloody things refused to move above 1 -2 weeks for me when I knew I was at least 6 weeks (one and only shag post-missed miscarriage!) and caused me untold fear that I was losing another one Angry

HoneyDragon · 27/01/2014 16:36

An error message? Surely it can tell if its urine or not? For the price they charge I'd expect them to be like hotpoint where you get a handy code to check in the user guide.

G6 ..... Your urine is to week try in the morning
F6.....erm your a dude
F9... Well if this was a Manual Test you'd have a really faint line now and need yo do 3 more to be sure.

I did pee all over one once and broke it Blush

heatseeker · 27/01/2014 16:57

I think I am too going to cry.... at the shame of this advert seriously wtf?

SarahAndFuckTheResolutions · 27/01/2014 17:14

We were at PILs house when I took my last pregnancy test.

DH gave that test to his mother by way of an announcement (not my idea and yes, far too soon, but long story meant keeping quiet wasn't much of an option for us) and she thought he'd bought her a new pen and took the cap off.

Up to that point it wasn't too grim, I'd dipped it rather than pissed on it, but taking the cap off was not a good idea.

She was actually disappointed that she was getting a grandchild and not a biro.

HoneyDragon · 27/01/2014 17:22

Grin Grin Grin Grin

I hope your dh went and bought her a nice Bic to apologise

OP posts:
SarahAndFuckTheResolutions · 27/01/2014 17:26

Grin Well, he let her keep the test.

Or at least, when I said "You do know what I've just done to that stick don't you?" to them both and she tried to thrust it back at him he got a panicked look on his face and wouldn't take it.
