To want a bit of snow this winter

I'm fed up of the rain. I want it to snow!

OP posts:

We got a few flakes last night didn't last though

Fudgeface123 · 27/01/2014 15:48

YABU. Snow turns to rain which for all the people suffering with these horrendous floods is another worry. Can you not wish for nice, dry weather?

Bowlersarm · 27/01/2014 15:48

There's time yet OP.

OpalQuartz · 27/01/2014 15:49

A friend and I were saying the same this morning. It'd be a shame if we have no sledging days. Ideally I'd like snow days where none of us can go to work or school!

LaGuardia · 27/01/2014 16:06

Yes, then all the elderly can fall and break their hips and then die of pneumonia whilst trying to get better in hospital. Won't that be absolutely spiffing Confused

ilovesooty · 27/01/2014 16:08

I take it you don't have a workplace to get to?

PestoStormissimos · 27/01/2014 16:10

I'm with you OP. I much prefer snow to endless rain.

Jbck · 27/01/2014 16:11

I'd like a little too OP so YANBU.

TheWitTank · 27/01/2014 16:12

I really really really don't want snow.
I have loads on and I can't afford to miss any work, appointments etc. If I had nothing on and didn't have the worry of getting to work then some would be nice.
I wish we could cope better in this country with snow. It always turns into a nightmare.

gamerchick · 27/01/2014 16:13

Not when I have to bike it to work at 5am. The snow makes life miserable

But I'm predicting snow in Feb :(

KellyElly · 27/01/2014 16:33

No, I only like snow at Christmas time. Apart from that it's annoying.

OpalQuartz · 27/01/2014 16:35

So if anyone who enjoys a bit of snow is hoping for old people to die of pneumonia, then presumably anyone who wants hot sunny weather is hoping old people will die of overheating then? Confused

WitchWay · 27/01/2014 16:37

I love snow & properly frosty weather in the winter - agree much too warm & wet.

wobblyweebles · 27/01/2014 16:40

I much prefer snow to rain to the extent that I left the UK for New England.

Had about 3 feet so far this winter.

It's been loveyl :-)

TunipTheUnconquerable · 27/01/2014 16:43

I want snow too, though obviously that makes me very evil and I should probably go to hell. (Where there would be no snow at all Sad)

CambridgeBlue · 27/01/2014 16:47

I hate all the rain but will be very happy if we don't get any snow. Apart from looking pretty it's a complete PITA - I can do without the country grinding to a halt for a week. Bet we do get some though.

Shinyshoes1 · 27/01/2014 16:50

Me to OP

Id love about 3 foot of the stuff

I fear we aren't going to get any Sad

BrennanHasAMangina · 27/01/2014 16:54

You can have some of ours! . We're having one of the worst winters in recent memory (Toronto). Even more delightfully, because it's been so cold, underneath the 3foot drifts is a layer of ice from the ice storm we had a few weeks ago.

CrispyFB · 27/01/2014 16:56

Normally I'd love love love a bit of snow too (love sledging and would love to try out the local hills with our skis!) but this year I have selfishly forbidden snow to fall.

I am nearly 32 weeks pregnant with really bad SPD, three young DC to get to and from school (10 minute walk) and nursery (2 miles) daily and no support at all - it's bad enough without ice and snow! As an added bonus, I'm half an hour from the nearest hospital and at high risk of preterm labour and I have to have a c-section sharpish or we both die. DH works long hours over an hour away, so it could all go horribly wrong if it snows at the wrong moment.

Snow can have a year off Grin and come back twice as heavy next year!

DidoTheDodo · 27/01/2014 16:57

No thanks. We are still flooded round here and dry weather is what is needed now.

It also makes roads dangerous and travel really difficult and trips old ladies (like me) over.

wobblyweebles · 27/01/2014 16:58

I just got some of these Stabilicers workingperson.com/32-north-blue-lite-blu-stabilicers-lite-ice-cleats.html. Absolutely magic in ice.

Back2Basics · 27/01/2014 16:59

I want a few days stuck indoors with no work or school!

LadyBeagleEyes · 27/01/2014 17:01

I'd like to see some snow, I live in the NW Highlands and we've had nothing.
We don't tend to grind to a halt up here either, the gritters are out and about all the time and most roads stay open.
