To ask if you are the same size in different shops...

I can range from a 12-16 in different shops. What's this nonsense all about? I HATE shopping but can't do online shopping as if I get a 12 I need the 14 or get the 16 need the 12... It's a pain in my ever size changing arse Grin

Yes! If I really like something then I try on the size I think I am and the one either side of that size. I NEVER shop online for this reason - most of it gets sent back.

I'm not and I've gone down a size in the last few years without losing weight - I think shops vary but I think fashion is awful at the mo too.

TheListingAttic · 27/01/2014 14:53

Heck, I'm often different sizes within the same outfit - narrow hips, fairly flatchested, but with broad back and unfortunate spare tire with not much of a waist. I can get my arse into size 8 jeans but not fasten the damn things - or get a really nice-fitting dress round the bust area, but not be able to do up the side zip. The size up and the zip with fasten, but I have saggy fabric round the boob area or billowy clown pants! Am also petite from shoulder to hip, but average/tall in leg length.

Someone clearly wasn't reading the instructions carefully enough when I was put together!

No, not at all. Have clothes ranging from 10 to 18. The 10s are for the bottom half only, as I'm fairly top heavy, and I didn't buy them purely for the label, no, as if I would. Most of my stuff is 14-16.

My clothes range from 14 to 20. It's immensely irritating, and I've definitely noticed some vanity sizing in the last few years. In 2009, before my pregnancy, I was the same weight as now and definitely took a size 18 in Next jeans - am currently wearing new size 16 Next jeans that are quite roomy - guess I should have gone for the 14.

Someone on here recently linked to this

What size am I?

.. which is a comparison of different sizes in women's clothing in the most popular UK shops. Very useful.

This is an article in the Guardian about the website, which summarises the results.
