Is peeing in my childs potty unreasonable

We run out of milk and it was freezing outside as we walked to the corner shop and back.
When we returned into the house I really needed a pee and sprinted to the bathroom. To my utter dismay I was stopped by my 5 year old little boy who said "I need a poo Mummy"
Shoved to one side I couldn't hold it any longer and sat in the other corner of the bathroom on the potty. (after two children my bladder is not as strong as it used to be. Does anyone have the same dilemma)?
My 2 year old girl then tugged at my trousers and started crying and saying "My potty, my potty. Was I being unreasonable? Should I have done things a different way? Blush

Hahaha. It's a lesson in sharing.

mrsmusic · 24/01/2014 23:23

If it's any consolation I have done the same before now! When you gotta go, you gotta go!

PedlarsSpanner · 24/01/2014 23:24

I dunno about UR or not but I am super jealous of your bendyness [stiff and non-flxible nearly fifty year old]

BrianTheMole · 24/01/2014 23:26

Maybe you should have peed in the bath instead. Grin your poor dd, that imagine of her mother sitting on her potty will probably be burned on to her memory for the rest of her life Wink.

PansOnFire · 25/01/2014 00:19

Probably better than the memory of mum peeing in the bath or standing there with wet pants...

YANBU, you were demonstrating how to use the potty and showing that it's for everyone :).

HowJustHow · 25/01/2014 00:38

Grin this made me laugh. YWNBU.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 25/01/2014 00:41

Ywnbu.

IneedAsockamnesty · 25/01/2014 00:53

Well it's much better than using the kitchen sink

SomethingOnce · 25/01/2014 00:58

Been there, done that. Nobody has been traumatised.

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 25/01/2014 09:11

YANBU.

Slightly OT, but I kept my DS's Potette (fold down portable potty) for use whilst camping. It's brill for those 3am wees - stand up, shove under (no way I'd be able to sit on it with those fold down legs LOL), do business, tie up bag. Sorted! Grin

Twonkette · 25/01/2014 10:16

YWNBU you might think DD is BU when she tells everyone in the queue at the shop/school/PIL etc that 'mummy did a wee in my potty!' Wink

oldgrandmama · 25/01/2014 10:22

I had to pee in the bidet once, when grandkid on the loo. Led to an interesting discussion with a three year old as to what the purpose the a bidet is. Smile

Melonbreath · 25/01/2014 11:31

I peed in the kitchen sink yesterday. And a neighbour saw me.
Blush

CustardOmlet · 25/01/2014 11:41

I'm crying with laughter!!! Your daughter needs to learn to share!

PostmanPatAlwaysRingsTwice · 25/01/2014 11:44

Melonbreath we need to hear more about that.

FreudiansSlipper · 25/01/2014 11:45

i do not think i have the leg muscles to squat on a potty and arse is way too big

i would have peed in the bath :)

Gileswithachainsaw · 25/01/2014 11:48

:o

melon ??.....

ebwy · 25/01/2014 11:51

I can't hold my wee - if I need to go, I need to go NOW. So my kids are used to seeing me use their potties.

SomethingOnce · 25/01/2014 12:13

YWNBU you might think DD is BU when she tells everyone in the queue at the shop/school/PIL etc that 'mummy did a wee in my potty!'

My DD has been broadcasting that 'mummy weed in a bottle'. I thought she might find the midwife appointment interesting, but clearly didn't think it through properly.

OOAOML · 25/01/2014 12:18

I'm impressed at your flexibility and thigh muscles - and I would be too worried about doing a massive wee that was too much for the potty (but then I have a tendency not to notice I need until I need a massive wee).

NickyNackyNooNoo · 25/01/2014 12:47

Someone posted on a different thread that their friend wees in a potty whilst their DC is asleep upstairs - or something like that!?! Now that is weird, OP you were merely caught short and needs must.

Very impressed your bum fit and yep sorry but your DD is going to bring this up at the most inopportune time....be prepared Wink
