to piss off back to bed for an hour

Ds is 6 weeks old. Currently snoring on my chest. If I put him down he will wake. But will happily co sleep in bed with me.

We had a tough night last night. Growth spurt, ebf, don't usually co sleep as dp is a bed hog and a fidget arse so am knackered.

Would it be really slummy mummy to go and get back in bed for a couple of hours? I could stick him in the sling and potter around doing housework. Have lots to do.

But am knackered.

GO TO SLEEP! Housework will keep...

ThursdayLast · 24/01/2014 10:40

Go now! Immediately! This minute!
Sleep tight

AlwaysDancing1234 · 24/01/2014 10:49

Sod it go back to bed! It's not like you are doing it every day. We all need to catch up on sleep sometimes.
Night night!!

kohl · 24/01/2014 10:51

Sleep. SLEEP!!

6tantrumsaday · 24/01/2014 10:57

Go for it, I still do it sometimes and my youngest is 3

LinghamStyle · 24/01/2014 11:01

Sleep! I do it and my youngest is 5. I'm catching up on all the sleep I didn't get when they were tiny babies because instead of going to bed when they were asleep I did housework.

I went back to bed with 6 month old dd when dh left at 8 this morning with 2 year old ds.

I woke up about 20 mins ago and am still lying in bed thinking about all the chores I normally get done whilst ds is at the childminders.

Enjoy some rest and some snuggles!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 24/01/2014 11:03

OP has not replied yet, maybe she took our advice and went back to bed zzzzzzz

Hoppinggreen · 24/01/2014 11:06

Sleep!!!! That's an order

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/01/2014 11:07

God lord woman I used to nap during the day ALL THE TIME when DS1 was little.

I did it the other day when I got back from dropping DS2 off at preschool.

If you are well rested then everything else is so much easier.

Amrapaali · 24/01/2014 11:08

Best decision you'll ever make this morning. You wont regret it. I still do it sometimes. DD is in school. Grin

BlackholesAndRevelations · 24/01/2014 11:10

I hVe 4 week old on my chest and other dc at nursery but I'm actually incapable of sitting or resting when there's so much to do Sad

SkinnybitchWannabe · 24/01/2014 11:12

Do it! Those sleeps are the best.
Sleep tight both of you.

Mim78 · 24/01/2014 11:18

He's 6 weeks old - go back to bed now! You don't need that excuse but definitely do it - you will feel miles better. I am off to bed now for a nap btw...

ipswichwitch · 24/01/2014 11:24

Me and 6 week old DS2 have only just surfaced! DH was starting work late so took DS1 to nursery and the lie in was bliss :)
Off to asda now for some goodies for tea and possibly a McDonald's for lunch - if I'm gonna be bad I might as well do it properly Grin

I sleep on he sofa when my two sons are occupied & happy.........well until the sound of them picking up their car keys disturbs me. Angry

froubylou · 24/01/2014 12:12

You were all right. Have had a good 45 minutes and feel much better for it. Just fed ds back to sleep though and am a bit stuck now.

Don't want to leave him alone in my bed but don't want to stay in bed. He looks so comfortable though. He is on his side, curled up around my boob with one hand on it bless him and I'm sure if I get up he will wake up.

Think I will try and sneak him into his sling. Made of velcro this baby. Dd wasn't like this I don't think? Waa 9 years ago though so might have selective memory!

Only good thing is hoiking him about in sling all day long or sat bfing must have a good impact on my weight?
