AIBU to eat it?

I just dropped the last apple. It rolled across the kitchen floor into the utility room and was promptly picked up and returned to me by the dog (well he is trained to retrieve). He has not punctured the skin so I have given it a good wash and plan to eat it. Ds3 (7) is horrified. He's being precious isn't he?

I'm with your DS here Grin

If not punctured then im with you op yanbu.

SlimJiminy · 22/01/2014 15:56

I'm not a dog person, so I wouldn't eat it but I have shared marmite on toast with my cat doubt it'll do much harm though if you've given it a quick rinse - go for it.

YANBU....but....when you are eating it, just try and think what the last thing (or things) the dog licked Grin

BillyNotQuiteNoMates · 22/01/2014 16:10

Of course, you COULD peel it!
I wonder if the dogs mouth is any dirtier than the bottom of your shopping trolley - that has had kids trampling over it in their shoes

Joysmum · 22/01/2014 16:29

If washing things doesn't make them clean then we'd have to have disposable plates, cutlery and pans etc

HaroldLloyd · 22/01/2014 16:29

I'd swill it and eat it but then I have to confess I am a bit of a minger.

SourSweets · 22/01/2014 16:30

YABU but not because of the dog. Because you dropped it and there is NOTHING WORSE than a bruised apple.

UriGeller · 22/01/2014 16:32

A bird might have pood on it while it was hanging on the tree you know.

Rosencrantz · 22/01/2014 17:48

Yeah, I'd eat it.

I eat all sorts. Nothings damaged me yet.

You shouldn't have washed it, it's better for your immune system if you drop apples on the floor before eating them.

LaGuardia · 22/01/2014 19:12

Dog almost definitely not a Labrador. Mine would have scoffed it pronto.

Jinty64 · 22/01/2014 20:40

I've eaten it!

It did have a bash SourSweets but tasted fine. He is a Labrador LaGuardia but I think he was slightly shocked by the unusual event.
