to book a holiday NOW?

we haven't had a decent holiday for years and years. Divorce, finances, massive debt from XH etc etc. Camping and caravaning in the rain.
I have worked so hard, and finally cleared all the debt (well almost all), and my tax payment is now finally less than I have saved for it (am self employed). I have enough to pay off some debt (credit card).
I have found a fab deal for me and my 2 DD's, in the sun, for a few nights in half term.
But DD2's passport is expired. Will take it in tomorrow for check and send. But will it come back in time.
Am desperate to book this break, it will be so good for the 3 of us. And I know I should wait for the passport, but will likely not be available by then.
So WIBU to book it now and pray the passport comes.
I wont have time to take it in person to the passport office before half term.

Check and send may be what this is anyway but I think you can go to post office and they do a guaranteed 2 week turnaround? If for some reason it didn't come in that time you might just have to find a way of doing it in person but think its unlikely. Good luck. Sounds like you really deserve the holiday!

I think it should be ok OP

Renewal is always much quicker than getting the original

Every time I have used check and send (or not) passport has been back in 5-7 days, regardless of time of year.

I should think it would be fine to book your holiday.

i would. longest it has taken me for passports is 2 weeks and that was height of summer.
