To be a bit annoyed at moonpig?

I've just got an email advertising some sort of gift box. It says

"Dear ,

Take advantage of our early offer of the perfect gift box for him this Valentine's Day. No need to make those dinner reservations, get dirty in the kitchen with this culinary gift box which contains everything you need to prepare a gourmet three-course meal." It also has a picture of a husband card next to the box.

When I click the link, it is a gift box but the description is unisex (refers to "your partner" not "him) and the cooking is to be done "together", no husband card.

Aibu to be annoyed that moonpig assume that because I have a female name, I must need advertising emails geared towards having a male partner?

I would complain.

Erm, hell yes, YABU.

They are advertising. They are personalising their advertising. If you had purchased anything that logged you as having a same sex relationship you may have got a dear wife/GF email.

Why do people complain about so much trivia? SIL complains about such tripe, but LOVES her vouchers, which she gets cos the big supermarket she signed up with collects all sorts of info on her and send her personalised emails and offers.

It seems too trivial to get all het up over.
