Can you blue tooth them to a laptop?

sykadelic15 · 18/01/2014 02:25

install dropbox on your phone and transfer them there. Super easy and free.

BillyBanter · 18/01/2014 02:43

I have a little usb memory card holder. I take the memory card out of the phone and put it in that and transfer the photos onto my laptop.

Dropbox app sounds like a good idea.

there are loads of cloud storage apps Google Drive , Dropbox, Skydrive, Photobucket which will give you free storage of a reasonable size and you can set the phone to upload automatically. The only thing I liked about my not loved at all Windows phone that one of the inducements Nokia and Windows gave to make people buy them was huge free Skydrive storage on a Windows live account .I got 25gb and my Samsung android phone happily sends pictures to it via the app. Google Drive isn't quite as generous but so far I've got masses of space on Skydrive.

Depending on your phone many will allow you to install software on a laptop/desktop which will sync with the phone so that pics get sent automatically to pc (when its on)

Does your phone have a removable memory card as really pics should be saved there.

Do you have apps set to update automatically? If you have change that. You'll have all sorts of stuff you don't really need and which don't ned to be updated.

I've never had an iPhone and never will but out of Windows, BlackBerry. or Android , Android wins hands down.

Caitlin17 · 18/01/2014 03:40

The phone will get laggy as its getting clogged up with stuff. Sorry I can't describe it bettter than that.

Get the photos off. Have you tried connecting it to a pc with a usb cable? pc should recognise it as a removable drive and you can drag and drop to the pc or upload to a cloud facility.

Are your contacts stored to a Google account? If so you can boost the phone by going into settings and finding the reset/ restore to factory setting. that removes everything except what was factory installed. The phone should be as smooth as butter. It will run though first set up again, you log in with your Google account which will restore all your contacts and then set up your email etc. If your nervous about doing that then uninstall apps you don't use.

polosareverynice · 18/01/2014 13:26

thank you for some helpful tips to try. I have actually done factory reset before about fpur times since i have the phone. im going o try uploafed to cloud i hadnt thought ofvthat. fingers crossed once photos are off it will be fine

If anyone can let me know how to delete the apps that come with a smart phone I'd be forever grateful. I don't use them and the space used by them could br put to better use.

Caitlin17 · 18/01/2014 17:45

babywipes they're welcome to look at 100s of photos of cats if they want. I've nothing stored in the cloud which is compromising and the sheer convenience outweighs any consideration of anyone else looking at it.

Tbh I don't understand why people post what they do on Facebook which is very public.

Caitlin17 · 18/01/2014 17:52

Farrowandball if it's the stock pre - installed apps you can't on Android unless your phone is rooted.(ie you're accessing the part of the system you're not meant to) I've no idea how you do this. Just make sure you never update the apps you don't need as that is a waste of space. You might get someone in a phone unlocking shop to root the phone but it invalidates all warranties.

If your phone is Windows or iPhone I don't think they can be rooted.

Farrowandbawl · 18/01/2014 18:09

Bugger Sad

Thanks Caitlin. I've turned off the update thing so that's not an issue anymore.

It's just annoying - I swear most people don't use half of those stupid pre-installed apps.

polosareverynice · 18/01/2014 18:27

I managed to finally clean my phone by finding that I had loads of apps stored in google play which I thought I had deleted long ago! practically every app I have ever downloaded. I have removed my photos by going to applications and clearing my sd card ( make sure you back up first!) and finally I installed 360 mobile security as antivirus previously had avg free. i'm happy now!
