WIBU to take these shoes back?

Bought said shoes around the 28th of October, worn them quite a few times but my normal walking days basically consists of house - car - office - car - house so not like I'm walking miles. Today I sit at my desk and realise the left shoe feels funny - it has split right across the middle.

Surely this is not normal? They were about £20, I know not a huge amount but still.

So WIBU to take them back to the store tonight?

TIA

Should also mention these aren't silly wee dolly shoes or anything. I actually bought them because they had what looked like a thick sturdy sole Hmm

Of course you should take them back. Which shop are they from? Some will exchange without question.

I had this with a pair of Bhs boots. Refund given with no issues.

They were from Deichmann. I don't have the reiept but do have the card transaction from our bank statement. Might chance it tonight and see what they say. Or maybe call them

My dds boots from deichman had the sole come off after about 3 months and they exchanged no bother.

Ooh can I piggyback? DD got a pair of Clarks boots during October half term and the zip's broken on one of them. I don't have a receipt and MIL bought them so I don't have a cc statement or owt. Should I take them back? What are Clarks like for refunding?

Sorry OP Blush

Yanbu to take them back.
On Saturday I took my ds school shoes back for the second time in six months. Couldn't find the receipt again but I got an exchange straight away.
He had only been wearing them for 6 weeks!

How long do people expect school shoes to last for?

A few weeks, a term, longer?

Should they last until they're grown out of, or is that irrelevant?

Obviously the brand, material and price make a difference to the answers.

I'm talking about a pair of leather Hush Puppies bought at £38.
