God we are bad when money is bad. He's self employed via an agency. Has had a nd has had shifts cancelled for 4 shifts. And has just gone and bought a kebab. and, when I've been cross about that, had a go at me because I bought 3 bottles of wine today. Bought before I knew his shifts had been cancelled.

Oh my word I haven by been this angry in years.

I'm so sorry about rubbish sentences. Ire and phone to blame!

inlawsareasses · 10/01/2014 22:56

So you were cross and he had a go? stop being a victim, you are both ridiculous!

MeepMeepVrooooom · 10/01/2014 23:00

Who care's? You have 3 bottles of wine in the fridge, go pour one of them down your throat and you won't care about the kebab.

MeepMeepVrooooom · 10/01/2014 23:01

(Or are the 3 bottles of wine more to blame than your phone for the bad sentence structure and horrific spelling/punctuation?) Grin

Lilacroses · 10/01/2014 23:02

He doesn't sound too awful based on that. Sorry! !

Casmama · 10/01/2014 23:09

How many of the bottles have you already drunk?

Oldraver · 10/01/2014 23:15

Whats a nd ?

emptychair · 10/01/2014 23:19

Sorry. I guess is the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. He's shit with money and over spent at Christmas (on me, I didn't on him), we have credit card debt to try and get down, no savings etc etc. So hardly any any money then him going and buying a take away just made me see mega red. And even more so when he tried to justify it by my spending.

However he has just come and apologised and so I have too. Trials and tribulations of marriage.

If you're in a situation where 4 cancelled shifts means a Kebab is a massive overspend then YABU to buy 3 bottles of wine regardless of the shifts.

SavoyCabbage · 11/01/2014 14:33

What objection said. You shouldn't have bought the wine even though the shifts weren't cancelled at that stage if you are paying off debts.

highho1 · 11/01/2014 14:34

4 cancelled shifts is alot of money though.

paxtecum · 11/01/2014 14:36

OP: maybe take this as a turning point to really make an effort to live as frugally as possible to get the debt paid off.

No wine, no take aways, no coffee shops, no eating out.

Have a stock of baked beans and buy a sack of potatoes.

Best wishes to you.

mrssmith79 · 11/01/2014 14:38

A kebab?? Unless that's a new model of Ferrari yabvvvvu.

JuliaScurr · 11/01/2014 14:47

sympathy with being constantly broke. Maybe that wine was on offer, but the financial pressures mean no wine at all, no kebab, meal plan, Aldi/Lidl and maybe one agreed treat a week. My dp is crap with money, it's ike asking him to carry boiling water in his bare hands. Do all the 0% credit card transfer, energy co. swap, claim all tax/benefits
fingers crossed

squeakytoy · 11/01/2014 14:54

Sounds like the op was too pissed to cook his dinner :)

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 11/01/2014 15:15

I can't fault him for buying a kebab.
especially if it was a chicken kebab.
did he get chips also?

I'm bloody hungry now.

sorry what was the question?

WandaDoff · 11/01/2014 15:21

Mmmmm Kebab

JuliaScurr · 11/01/2014 15:25

good point, zing because if he had chips, he has gone too far. Did he share them? If not - LTB

complexnumber · 11/01/2014 16:06

Please explain what it is that you think he has done that is so terrible that it makes him an arse?

Personally I would be looking at a kebab supper with plenty of wine as a big happy plus!

verytellytubby · 11/01/2014 18:33

Kebab and wine. Yum.

Topseyt · 11/01/2014 18:39

Kebabs and wine (three bottles, no less) are both frivolities if you are in too much debt.

Pot, kettle, black springs to mind, but I think you have acknowledged that now and apologised to each other. Stress over money can cause these sorts of arguments.
