To wondering why I'm left with the fall out from Christmas?

Went back to work this week (yes we had a long break) but I've taken today off (own business with DH) to clear up. Mainly because we have a man coming to measure up for blinds tonight and I'm ashamed. Ironing pile is a mountain, recycling (newspapers as well as bottles) everywhere ' because they don't pick up till next Tuesday, online deliveries to return, last 'don't throw that away' bits to clear from the fridge, pile of 'we will do it after Christmas post to deal with..... Not driving (so bugger the returns) and have resorted to 'oh did that good Chablis not get drunk over Christmas' mode.

I think everyone has a point like this after Christmas. It's when you realise you have to get back to real life.

can you leave stuff for your dh to do? If not, definitely hit the wine and watch crap tv while ironing. (i don't iron, but if i did i would always watch tv while doing it)

''I'm ashamed''

There you have i'm afraid OP Grin

My DHs standards of a clean/cleared up house are below mine, so if i want it looking the way i like it (when people come round) i know it's me who's got to do the lions share of it. He and the kids'll happily keep the washing up pile down, and the floor sort of clean, but ... the finer points are down to me as only i care!

He can put it all away. I'll keep ironing so I can justify looking 'flushed' when he gets home Wink.

Might all be in vain as I haven't looked inside my DSs bedrooms which are where the blinds are for. Have sent them both texts telling them he is coming to measure and I need help to stuff the decs back up in the loft.

Also dimly remember there being a mouse caught in a trap in the loft that I told them to leave because we were in a rush to put the decs up before people came round.....on about the 14th December. So will it have rotted, will it smell or will there be a plague of flies? God I need a holiday.
