DS (13 months) goes to Gym Babies.

In October, a professional I use this word lightly photographer came to the class and took photos of the children - including studio shots. There were some lovely ones of DS so I decided to buy a disk with the photos on

I wouldn't normally have but the photos were really lovely. I was told I would have the disk within a week. It turned up two weeks later but was unreadable. I emailed the photographer to let him know and he promised to send another one.

Nothing arrived, so I emailed him to chase and noted that I would be very grateful for the disc as we were making memory books of DS and I wanted to include some of the photos. The photographer told me he had sent one but nothing turned up....so I chased again. I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant and, at that stage was admitted to hospital with bleeding. Whilst I was in, the photographer sent me an email with some images attached in a format we couldn't open and which expired a week later. With the hospital stay, we didn't have time to contact him and, actually, I just wanted the disc. So I emailed again, asking him to send another by recorded delivery. He said he had, but by normal post why? and a again nothing turned up. There is no problem with our mail

So....I chased again. He says he's sent a disc but nothing has turned up - nearly 3 months later. Apparently he was asking at the post office about it yesterday why? When not sent recorded delivery? but I've heard nothing further

I've sent quite a strongly worded email today saying that I'm really disappointed with this and it seems that we have no choice but to travel the 50 mile round trip to come and pick one up. My due date is on Friday so I don't want to go. Therefore, DH would have to go after work - which is really not what I want

I'm wondering about asking him to refund us and just leaving it. But the photos are lovely and, actually, I don't think he would refund us the money unless we travelled personally to get it. So if we're going to do that, then we may as well pick up the disc

So, AIBU to pursue this or should I just chase for a refund? Also, AIBU if I mention to the Gym Babies organiser what has happened -it feels like a scam!

it sounds like a scam and i wouldn't hesitate to ask for your money back and to tell the photographer you will be telling all and sundry about the bad service

3 months is more than long enough to take your money and send you the product which he has failed to do

PedlarsSpanner · 08/01/2014 14:25

Yes do tell the gym, they will prob be horrified and hopefully not use that person again.

Does he have a fb page you can grumble publicly on?

jacks365 · 08/01/2014 14:27

Speak to the gym as you may not be the only one and if there are more of you it is worth letting him know as a group that you will not tolerate this.

iggymama · 08/01/2014 14:33

I hope you get it sorted, it is very poor service. If you collect the disc, I suggest taking a laptop with you and checking you can see all the images before you leave.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/01/2014 14:38

Yes - I will definitely tell the organiser

I'm wondering about Facebook too. I may wait until I get a response to my email today. I'm really pissed off - feel I'll end up with no money and no photos!

Good point, iggy.

This guy seems to do lots of weddings. Am Shock that perhaps he's dicking about with people's wedding photos!

I have now posted on his Facebook page! Apparently he will send me the tracking number as surprise, surprise the photos haven't arrived today Angry

The facebook page is very active so quite enjoying the thought of prospective clients reading the posts
